The answer is no - you shouldn't be mad! Perhaps it was a surprise but I would argue it's the standard of care and it may have been obligatory depending upon the location of the resection. CG, that's terrible news and so disappointing but you have the right spirit - adjust to the news, come up with a good plan and attack it again. There are many people on this board who have had recurrences only to go back into NEDSVILLE. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

clados: I had episodes of diverticulits and had elective surgery to remove a section of the colon. It seems strange that you are having an episode so soon after surgery - hopefully, your doctors have ruled out infection related to the surgery.
