Re: Anyone on daily Xeloda?

My wife used daily chemo for 8 years with frequent IV vitamin C, and supplements for support of higher chemo dosages than possible without IVC, with a high quality of life and pretty good immune function e.g. WBC over 4 - 5. Frequent enough IV vitamin C can help with fatigue and some chemo side eff...

Anyone on daily Xeloda?

I have been on a schedule of one week on and one week off of Xeloda and Avastin. A second opinion onc suggested a low dose daily as opposed to my current schedule to address fatigue. Has anyone done this and did you notice a difference? Thanks Bob

Re: Covid 19 vaccine

I got mine first dose today as I work in the medical field. I called my onc as I was taking Xeloda, Avastin, and the Moderna all in the same day. He reported I was good to go. Bottoms up with the triple combo. I am grateful. B

Re: Keytruda....Working for MSS....Mutation Burden is the Key

i wanted to give you all an update on my off-label use of Keytruda (since I am MSS it is not approved for use by me....since it doesn’t generally work for colon cancer patients which microsatellite stable tumors.) HOWEVER, it looks like it is working for me....and here is the reason why (according ...

Re: Oncology and chemo business as a monopoly on treatment

The Senator liked the proposal and is agreeable to sponsoring. He is sending the proposal to Legislative Services to be drafted and they will be in touch with me to craft it. I will need Ohio Buckeye Help from locals on the colon club board. He was curious who would oppose it as every piece of legis...

Re: Question about Xeloda scheduling/timing differences

Connie, I have been on 5,000 mg per day (about 60 rounds) and recently had it cut to 4,000 mg per day. I think it is one of those things that impacts everyone differently. Certainly the longer you are on it the more significant the side-effects. I am on a 7-day a week on and 7 off (breast cancer pro...

Re: Oncology and chemo business as a monopoly on treatment

rp1954 , Have you proposed this regimen yourself? It is there for all Colon Club readers and adminstrators. My wife's treatment is based on a degree of personalization and stratification. Its somewhat more like a system of navigation and exploration on an advanced sailing vessel 250 years ago. Desp...

.. I got in. Appt with my Senator on April 16 for a 1/2 hour proposal.....after my onc appt in the morning-- Irony. B Good! I'm happy to hear that you got an appointment. Have you decided what to focus on during your half-hour appointment? Do you have an actual proposal to present? Thank you. I wil...

Re: Oncology and chemo business as a monopoly on treatment

... If my senator or state rep calls me back, I will share an earful. I think all the change can occur from a bottom-up initiated force. Requiring a detailed pro-patient informed consent and required disclosure about treatment options. Good luck on your contact with your Senator. If you don't get a...

Re: Oncology and chemo business as a monopoly on treatment

I support this BUT there are some issues. You would have to constantly change the “Bill of Rights” if it includes the effectiveness of treatments because it’s always changing. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but it may not include this.i was talking to a cancer researcher the other day (neighbor, I...

Re: Oncology and chemo business as a monopoly on treatment

I think every colon cancer treating facility should have a ColonClub liaison. If my senator or state rep calls me back, I will share an earful. I think all the change can occur from a bottom-up initiated force. Requiring a detailed pro-patient informed consent and required disclosure about treatment...

Re: Oncology and chemo business as a monopoly on treatment

You have a point. You should not tar all oncologists with the same brush. Many are open to all kinds of treatments as they view their main job as curing the patient. All of us Stage 4 patients are different, but oncs are very different also. Just sayin' Hi Betsy, You are correct. I hope you didn't ...

Oncology and chemo business as a monopoly on treatment

This may be a little psychological venting: Twice so far I have had to battle my oncologists for alternative treatments such as cryo or SBRT consultants. Each onc was a "chemo for life" proponent. This most recent occasion I think I bludgeon my Onc to the point where he said I will support...
