Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

My numbers came back today: CEA stable from last week at 2.2 but a lot of the other numbers improved a little - I guess that's to be expected taking a week off chemo. This morning was painful as I spent 20 minutes scraping snow and ice off the cars. I used really thick and waterproof gloves which he...

Re: Stage 4 colon Cancer Please read and help me as confused

Do they know what the gene mutation is? That could be a clue as to what clinical trials might be available. I do not know how that stuff works in England but some of the trials in the US are based off of the mutation.

Re: Port Removal

So the GP confirmed it - the glue has stuck to the internal stitches  He trimmed some of it but couldn’t remove it for risk of opening the whole wound. He gave me a dose of antibiotics to be on the safe side and I have to go back in a week to see whether there has been any improvement. I know ...

Re: GI appointment Wednesday

I think that there are several other things besides cancer, especially if scans are clear.

The worry can really get to you though. My sister has had major problems for about ten years and the doctors haven't been able to figure out what the problem(s) are though she's been through a ton of tests.

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

My insurance refused to let me use the pharmacy at my cancer center for my capecitabine. I had to use their selected mail order pharmacy. Even after my oncologist lowered my dose, they still sent the original amount of pills. I gave up trying to explain things to them. I could have just taken the e...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

The left a message and I called back to place the order. They were going to send out another full batch. I asked why as I already have 28 of them and these little pills cost a small fortune. I don't want to increase costs to my insurance company for something that I would throw out. So I'm on the ph...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

My wife sent me a bunch of pictures this morning from Singapore. She's buying a rental property there. The building is gorgeous and there are a bunch of shops and hawker stalls on the first floor. It's near a subway station as well so convenient for commuting. I wouldn't mind being there right now. ...

Yes, it's UNH though through private insurance. I have not worked with a social worker. My doctors are fine - it's the other end that's the problem. It's basically the same experience that I've had with McKesson, Verizon and Comcast. Fortunately I'm good with dealing with poor corporate customer ser...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

I wonder if your oncologist's office or the hospital s/he is in or connected to would be able to get the drug more cheaply and reliably for you? I will ask United Healthcare but I'd guess that the answer would be no. Maybe at a place like Dana Farber but probably not here. Infusion at 80% underway ...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

This is really the last thing you need to deal with while going through chemotherapy treatments. Mine were always sent from the pharmacy at my cancer hospital, or I would pick up when I had an appointment with my oncologist since the pharmacy was right there. I hope the next time there will get the...

Re: STAGE IV KRAS G12V NON MSI-HIGH

This is the TIL therapy at NCI. There is a thread on it here.

I have or had G12D which was in the earlier trial. The husband of one of the participants posts in the TIL thread from time to time.

Re: Please need some answers, feeling scared

I have my third infusion in less than three hours. I had cold sensitivity and neuropathy that lasted longer after my second cycle and it felt awful so I asked the oncologist if we should wait a week and if he could drop the dosage 20% and he agreed. I had bloodwork done last week and it was okay. Ju...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

I hate dealing with BriovaRX. I called my Oncologist on Friday to place the order. They placed the order but I hadn't heard anything Monday afternoon so I called them and they said that they had an issue with the order so I got both on the line and they both said that it was fixed. So I went to plac...

Re: Good news...and I'm at my lowest

Sorry if I’m not up to date on this, but did you not have an oncologist during your six weeks of chemo/radiation? What does he or she have to say? I think post-op chemo is pretty standard for stage III, although my Croatian oncologist said it’s not standard in Europe - not sure if that’s true. Had ...
