Lung surgery advice

DH has about 5 nodules. Surgeon has agreed to go in and remove them and DH will lose about 25 percent lung capacity. DH has been off chemo since June 2016 and this is all that has popped up. What are thoughts on this? I am a nervous wreck as to whether or not this is a good decision. They can't abla...

Re: Ct scans

It drives me mad! 7 lung nodules one scan and now only 3. I am grateful for that, but it drives me mad. I do think it depends on the radiologist.

Re: What did you tell the kids?

We have a 10 year old and a 7 year old. Just 8 and 5 1/2 a husbands diagnosis. We have been completely honest with them about what is going on and they have handled it amazingly well. We answered all of their questions honestly. My son asked me the other day if dads cancer was back. I said yes and w...

Re: Lung cancer spots ... Chemo for life?

My DH was initially told inoperable as well. When we mentioned going to Dr. Rolle they changed their tune a bit and said if they see stability, meaning no new mets, they will go in and remove them. I would keep pushing until someone says yes. It seems to me like your mom has showed stability so I th...

What's the difference between cryoablation and RFA? Congrats on getting those suckers evicted!

Re: Maintenance Chemo or No ?

DH has been off chemo since June 2016. That's 14 months. Scans are showing a few tiny spots in lungs but they are still keeping him off chemo for now.

Re: Coughing up Blood with Lung Mets??!!

Surgeon thinks it's the RFA too. He did say very uncommon to see effects two months out but CT showed nothing amiss. Blood work and vitals were great. Thinking to take a look down his throat to see if it's something there.

Scared the hell out of us! Thanks for the advice ❤️

Coughing up Blood with Lung Mets??!!

DH has a few tiny lung mets. So tiny they are t even being treated yet. He went to ER last night because he coughed up a mouth full of blood. All checked out ok, but doc said it can happen with mets. Is this something we can expect? He also did have RFA about 8 weeks ago to one of the mets But would...

Re: Stage IV for 4.5 years.....NED again!!

Congrats!!!! Would love to hear your thoughts on the laser lung surgery as well. DH is in same boat with 5 lung mets too scattered to be removed surgically. They mentioned RFA when they grow. Also, how does on get on the ADAPT protocol? Do you need to see dr. Lin or just ask your oncologist about it...

Re: ADAPT protocol

Thanks Sophy! DH has low Tumor burden. Few mets to lungs that are tiny. I think four or five right now. I suggested laser lung surgery to the oncologist and she didn't see the point of it. She said they can RFA them as they become an issue. They did RFA to one six weeks ago that worked well. Why did...

ADAPT protocol

I've seen this mentioned many times on this board. What is it? Is it only through Dr. Lin?

Thanks!

Re: Lung met treatment experience

There are 4 in total. One was removed via RFA about a month ago. One is growing and other two are new nodules just discovered.
