Re: Rational and irrational fears regarding husbands treatment

I know exactly what you are going through. I've even gone as far as avoiding all social gatherings and school events. Watching the other families with their carefree lives. Raising their kids, having fun and not worrying about cancer. It's so hard. Prayers we can both be back to some sense of that n...

LTD Question

DH is out on STD until May 24th, which is when it ends. He will then convert to LTD and we will get the paperwork for that when he is at the mid-point of his STD claim. If he is terminated before the LTD claim goes through will he lose his benefits? I have a suspicion his job will terminate his empl...

Re: Thread for January scans

DH had his post surgery scan after colon and liver resection (1.5 cm node). Was feeling good but now they noticed something on his lung and an enlarged lymph node. Was feeling so good about everything and now terrified again. This sucks.

Re: CRC with one small liver met, low CEA

Not great news to report. First CT showed a small (3 mm) lesion on his lung and 2 active lymph nodes. Feeling really discouraged and sad. He starts chemo today and really hoping that will take care of it all. I feel like this is the beginning of a long road.

Re: 2nd year caregiver jitters-CAREGIVERS ONLY

I feel the exact same way and have been feeling so guilty about it! My husband was diagnosed on November 6th. Liver and colon resected and starts chemo next week. I am terrified for my children and the future.

Re: The dangers of many CT scans

I think about the same thing for my DH. But not sure what the alternatives are. Hoping they can figure that out for future generations.

Quick question for you. I see you had a liver resection. Is it normal for liver enzymes to be high after resection (DH's was 5 weeks ago).

Re: CRC FELLOWS WITH LIVER METS - GO 2 SLOAN PLEASE

Question and opinion needed.... My husband will start Folfox on the 11th. We are seeing Dr. Won in West Harrison. He did have a small lesion in liver which was resected along with colon last month. Now I am hearing best oncologist to see with liver mets is Kemeny. Are we allowed to switch or is that...

Re: CRC with one small liver met, low CEA

I am wondering why Dr. DeMatteo or Dr. Garcia at Sloane did not mention the HAI pump. I am thinking because the liver met was so small - he said it was about a centimeter and a 1/2. We are seeing Dr. Won now but from what I understand they work as a team and my husband's treatment was decided by com...

Thanks everyone! He has an amazing attitude so hoping that helps as well.

Did anyone do supplements or special diet? We've definitely amped up the fruits and veggies but thinking we need to do more.

Re: CRC with one small liver met, low CEA

Thanks! He did have it removed along with a foot of the colon on 11/24. We have already met with Dr. Won and she discussed he will be on Folofox every other week for 6 months. From what I understand they work together at Sloane so his treatment was determined by committee rather than just by Dr. Won...

Re: CRC with one small liver met, low CEA

Thank you. I will definitely ask his oncologist. His surgery was done at MSK by the Chief of Colorectal Surgery Julio Garcia and Dr. DeMatteo. I know we are in good hands from that perspective.
