Re: Exciting immune system research

I haven't seen anything...
I follow several oncologists and advocates on Twitter... and I'm in several FB groups... Nothing there.

Re: NEW THREAD FOR LOVED ONES LEFT BEHIND ONGOING

Hi Kelly, I'm so terribly sorry for what you're going through... There are really no words for making it better. I'll just say that Avastin is a nasty drug. I know it's a very popular drug in the US and continental Europe but its side effects can be devastating. I personally developped a fistula tha...

Re: No longer NED- back in right ovary

Hi Brenda, I've never heard such a thing! I had a met to one ovary and a total hysterectomy with HIPEC. I know at least 4 other women with mets to ovaries and in each case they were succesfully removed. Don't expect chemo to work on the ovaries though and push for surgery ASAP. Those buggers can gro...

Re: Hipec post op pain

Hi. I'm sorry that your father's in pain. I had a very long and involved cyto-reductive surgery + Hipec... The post-op pain was bad but I had a morphine pump that delivered morphine continously + a button to press to have an immediate dose... Does your father have something like that? He should real...

We've lost Ben (Pyro70)

And the world is a much darker place... Ben was selflessly following the patients involved in the different Regonivo trials... He was always there for whoever needed a piece of advice... He was a loyal friend... He will be dearly miss in the CRC boards... He must be riding the most beautiful waves n...

Re: No more chemo?

I would stay away from the alternative German clinics. You've heard positive stories, I've read many sad ending stories. I agree with Rob, if your boyfriend didn't fail Folfiri it'd be a good idea to try that again. As I've told you before, you're very lucky to have a TIL trial in your own country. ...

Re: Hope vs reality

I ask myself that same question on a daily basis... I wish I had an answer... I feel related to your story because even if right now I'm dealing with some liver mets, I know my demise will be peritoneal disease. I had lots of it before Hipec and it's bound to return and kill me. I second the idea of...

Yeah you're probably right. Well we'll start with the biggest ones in that case and then see what the next step is.

Good thinking!

Re: No more chemo?

Hi. I think the only treatment for the liver that excludes other options is Y90. However, you should wait for an expert to chime in. How many liver mets does he have? Hugs. Thanks for your reply! He has between 10 and 20 liver mets. The biggest ones are about 2.5 cm. I'm not sure they will be able ...

Re: Advise.. I need to be more aggressive

Definitely try to find another doctor. I've seen posters here with doctors who have gone the approach of liver resection + lymph nodes, then recovery, then peritoneal HIPEC. I don't think they can do it simultaneously unfortunately but it can be a step by step process. I hope someone who has gone t...

Hi Nicole.

It's been so long.

You should definitely look for an "aggressive" surgeon, I've read stories of people with waaaay more disease than you that got surgery. I'm one of them!

What caused your bowel perforation?

Hugs.
