Re: Possible Liver Met

Three months is a long time to wait, wonder and worry in my opinion. I had a small spot on my liver that was discovered on a CT scan. The same doctor sent me for an MRI and it turned out to be a cyst. Hope your son’s liver spot turns out to be nothing sinister. Sending positive vibes and best wishes

Re: What is the side effect of folfiri and zaltrap

I only had FOLFIRI but it played havoc with my digestive system, my hair thinned and it affected my neutrophils and had to have neupogen injections a few times between treatments to help boost them. Best wishes to your mom.

Re: Today was the day!

Hi there, I think you are definitely doing the right thing by being proactive and getting a second opinion. I am a bit concerned about your CEA result. Have you ever had a CA19-9 test? My CEA was 4.7 prior to surgery and then was always between 0.5-2.0. However, I do realise that other people’s resu...

Re: Just got diagnosed - advice appreciated

Hi there, I was you in 2009 and I’m still here! I have not given up red meat, I love it and it is very nutritious. I don’t believe it causes cancer but that’s my opinion. Probably best to limit refined sugar and refined grains, vegetable oils (not olive oil) and trans fats if you want to change your...

Re: cutting chemo before 6 infusions

Who does like chemo? To be honest, I hated chemo with a passion...every minute of it and the ghastly side affects that I encountered. However, I was determined to do my 12 treatments even after the first when I wondered how I would ever manage. It’s up to you with whatever you decide to do. I was te...

Re: CEA Quesition

No!! No need to worry at all. It is normal to fluctuate. My onc told me that if I had blood drawn in the morning and again in the afternoon, the result would more than likely be different. Mine fluctuated between 0.7 and 1.6 or so.

Re: I need emotional help

I hope that you get a second opinion very soon. Being told that our cancer has come back or that it’s growing must be devastating. A friend of mine is living through this but hers is renal cancer that has metastasised to her lungs. She is so courageous and living her life to the full - I am in awe o...

Re: Advise.. I need to be more aggressive

Hi Nicole, I think that you should definitely seek out another opinion. It must seem overwhelming but I’m sure there are others here who could help you and give you direction about the best way to move forward with it. I am not in the US so I’m not really any help, unfortunately. Might be best to pu...

Re: 33 years old, mucus, blood and nerves!

Hello, Ok so it’s good that you are getting a colonoscopy. It is the only way to see what is actually going on in your colon. We are unable to speculate what is going on but there are other conditions that can cause your symptoms besides cancer. My only symptom was blood in my stool. I had a colonos...

Re: Finally staged at IIIc

I was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer 10 years ago. To be honest I don’t know if I’m a,b or c. I know that my cancer was low grade and I think that’s good. I believe my odds of surviving 5 years was 50%, according to some websites. I decided not to research any longer on google as it was only ...

Re: Clear CT results!

Hopefully, it will be back to where it was at your next test. Oh no, your oncologist is leaving  They get to know us and know our history, and we get to know them and put our trust in them when we are most vulnerable. Hoping that you are happy with your new onc and that they will look after y...
