Re: Need advice- newly diagnosed Stage 3

I totally agree with Belle. Go to the Dr! Secondly, the dark urine....you are dehydrated and probably need I've fluids. At the minimum, drink water!!! I've also had multiple kidney stones, all my urologists state that after the first urine in the morning, my urine should have little to no color. I c...

Re: Stage 4 CA-What family preparations must be done

My husband was on a flight crew in the air Force when our children were young. The reality was that he was in a dangerous job. We had wills. Our children are grown now and because anyone of them, or their spouse could get hit on their way to work, they have wills. It's not a negative, but a reality ...

Re: O/T Using an IPad.

Once in awhile, I just have to take a minute and just turn my iPad off and then back on. It resets itself as it is starting up. I probably should do it more often, but it usually fixes whatever issue is cropping up

Re: Bleeding and Stage 1??

Well, I was diagnosed with a 5cm polypoid mass, 3 cm into my rectum. EUS stated it was a T3 tumor. I went for a second opinion and that Dr was very uncomfortable with the standard chemo/rad and APR. He believed strongly that I needed a better biopsy. Fast forward, there was no real tumor, just a gro...

Re: Pain and bleeding

If your pain and bleeding are causing you this much stress, go to the ER. There will be someone there, holiday on Tuesday or not.

Re: Only 62% of CRC patients report financial burden?

I think it depends on your insurance. We have TriCare as my husband is retired military. Our maximum out of pocket for the fiscal year, October--September is $3000.00. That's it unless we go out of network of course.

Re: Surgeon For Port Placement

I grew up in the SF Bay Area. My mother lived there until he died about four years ago. I can't begin to tell you the numbers of doctors I have personally seen in the area. Not one has ever asked for cash under the table. My mom had breast cancer, internistal lung disease, a broken pelvis from a fal...

Re: Out-And-About Too Soon?

I'm not sure that explode is the right word, but yes, I'm in the Dallas area and as the CDC said, there will be more cases. But, am still going about my business, spending 4 mornings at the Y, going to church, etc. I cannot be so afraid that I don't live daily life. That would make me a victim, some...

Re: Out-And-About Too Soon?

Meatie, I live in the Dallas area and have one daughter who is a nurse in the area. While Ebola is scary, no one I know of is hiding in their house. We've had football games, lots of football games, the state fair us setting records with attendance. Life cannot stop because of something that is bare...
