Re: Mop up chemo - Port vs non-port for Oxi?

The chemo through a IV (PICC line) is supposed to be terrible on the blood vessels. My husband wrestled with the idea of a port. He really did not like the idea of it, made it feel like he was a cancer patient, and at that time he was having a hard time accepting the reality. So many people recommen...

Re: How safe is Coffee?

Interesting article, thanks for sharing. “It was demonstrated that roasting process had the most significant effect on acrylamide levels in natural coffee, however there were no relationships found with coffee species. Due to the high acrylamide levels demonstrated in coffee substitutes, recommended...

Re: How safe is Coffee?

I don’t believe acrylamide is naturally occurring. If it was found in coffee, there may have been some contamination from an external source.

Re: No more personal updates from me

I have no idea what half of these comments mean. Mobrouser, I don't believe you and I have ever conversed. I don't criticize people or say anything that should stop them from "speaking." If you could point to any examples, I would love to know about them. My husband has posted a few times ...

No more personal updates from me

Hi everyone, If anyone is interested in following our ongoing saga, you will have to "friend" me on facebook because I am no longer sharing personal information on this forum or on the Colontown facebook groups. The gang/cult/mob has won and effectively silenced me through their censorship...

Re: Things Not to Say and the Responses I want to Make (Rant)

I also think politeness is like beauty. Subjective, in the eye of the beholder. I wish I could describe in detail exactly what happened and how we were treated, but I won't. Keeping these cards close to my chest especially with all her little spies out there. Suffice it to say that the responses wer...

Re: Anyone pass out after abdominal cramping??? ER time

Yes, we met with Dr. D'Angelica yesterday. He assured us that the catheter will be fine in there while my husband completes his chemo. He was not too concerned with the blood clot that remains in his scrotum. We will double check with Dr. Kemeny when we see her next Monday, the 10th before chemo tre...

Re: Things Not to Say and the Responses I want to Make (Rant)

Well, I just know that if someone's husband was going through a life-threatening situation or was in the tail end of it, I would cut the wife some slack if she was impolite. That's where that comment was coming from - our personal experience with others' lack of compassion. I am mostly referring to ...

Re: Things Not to Say and the Responses I want to Make (Rant)

I suggest you try and get a twoferone deal with a chemistry AND anatomy book so when the stabbing starts, you hit vital organs... There's something about severe personal crisis that acts as a dog whistle for every dropkick within a 20 click radius....I believe there's no rule book that sa...

Re: Anyone pass out after abdominal cramping??? ER time

I don't know if it is possible to reattach a new pump. No one has mentioned the concept so far. I don't know if my husband would be interested in that, in any case. He hasn't asked that question or spoken about such an idea to me, so that tells me that he leans towards no interest. I don't know if t...

Re: Anyone pass out after abdominal cramping??? ER time

Yes! I'm very happy with the progress he is making. At this rate, with Hg up 2 points in 10 days he will be up to 14 in 10 more days, which is when he is scheduled to restart chemo.
