Re: Prospective Phase II US study: complete clinical respond

Hmmmm. I personally am glad I had the surgery. I am almost a year out from the major surgery after my chemo/rad and looking back it was tough. I have no complications from the original surgery and my only real side effect was from the mop up chemo I elected to do that being neuropathy. When I was dx...

Re: No chemo

same stage as me, I did the chemo and glad I did. Rather have 5-8% chance than 10% plus. Anyways we all need to make decisions that we can live with. Good luck we both should be good.

Re: Any Canadian young adults selling home after losing job

I live in Ontario and am lucky to live debt free. I live in a modest condo and work seasonally ( 8 months a year) at a low wage. I sympathize with people that are forced to sell homes because of losing employment due to cancer. Living here in Ontario I had first rate treatment all through my year fi...

Re: Restaging After Surgery and adjuntive chemo

I too had a complete response after pathology. I did the chemo just because I wanted to do everything possible to prevent a recurrence. You will read and hear lots about the minimal increase in survival % if you do the chemo and that it is not worth the side effects. Well lets say down the road she ...

high ferritin levels

Had blood test last month ferritin was 800 which is high but not high enough to warrant any treatment. Seems inflamation from surgery can effect levels and make them higher. I was dealing with a still healing surgery wound from my ostomy in late August. Anyways just wondering if anyone else has had ...

I am a lucky guy

A little story Back in December 2012 I was a healthy active athletic guy at 52 years old. I had recently ended a relationship that past summer, now I was back on the online dating sites. I had chatted with many but never really got serious. Anyone that has been on any of these sites know that their ...

Re: Update to my condition

Good Luck I amjust at the end of my journey but it sounds like you are heading down the same path. I won't sugar coat it, you are in for a rough year but do what the doctors say, stay positive (most important)and just take day by day. Some days will be good some will be bad but I will give you a tip...

Re: Stage 2 Chemo/No Chemo

Do the chemo i have 2 treatments left and it was tough but glad I did it. Like others have said you want the mindset that you did everything possible to prevent reoccurance. I just simply asked my onc what she would do if she was me. although I had a complete pathological response she said she would...

Re: O/T - These medical costs are ridiculous!

Yes I do agree that the cost of fighting cancer with all the high tech equipment does cost a lot of money. My issue is with the insurance companies that deny test and procedures over cost. I can't tell you but I am sure you are aware of just how many people on this forum are denied procedures that t...
