Re: Hellooo Neuropathyiiiiiiiiiii

Ana, you are doing sooo well! Maybe just the one final oxi. It's horrid ... I only managed 4 but onc was happy with 4 so me too! I'll never forget the oxi .... my numb feet remind me each day but without it is much easier. Like you, I tried to forget that I was having chemo and lead my normal life.....

Re: Hellooo Neuropathyiiiiiiiiiii

Ana. So sorry to read that you are having a bad time and hope that it passes quickly. Oxi is horrid and can bite us in rhe bum when we think we're coping! Maybe the onc will decide that you've had enough... I felt that every extra oxi under my belt gave me a better chance to beat this thing but I ha...

Re: Starting chemo today

I hope today goes ok. The first chemo is scary but once you know what to expect, it does get easier. I remember how lost I felt at the beginning, with no idea how the treatment would leave me feeling. I too am a planner but it is hard to plan at first...just take a day at a time. Suddenly I felt tha...

Re: Hellooo Neuropathyiiiiiiiiiii

Hello Ana, so glad to read that you are coping well now that the oxi dose is reduced. Great news! You say you still have some nausea with the Emend...along with Emend, my onc prescribed prednisolone for days 3, 4 and 5 plus solupred for any break through nausea. At the worst time with the oxi, he al...

Re: Portacath insertion, what to expect?

I was out completely...that was fine by me! My main issue is location as I have to pad my bra strap and it's a real nuisance! Ask for location away from where strap will rub! I did have a bit of discomfort for a few weeks but then fine ...except for bra strap issue! All the best for your treatment b...

Re: Hellooo Neuropathyiiiiiiiiiii

Yes Ana..no more oxi! The onc stopped it after 4 th round due to loss of reflexes in my ankles. I had also been having to wear thick gloves even in the house doing much was difficult with gloves!! Feet weren't really an issue then! I was happy to read that in N Z they are looking at just 4 as I had ...

Re: Hellooo Neuropathyiiiiiiiiiii

Ana, reading how you're feeling reminded me how well I feel now! I felt just like you and despaired that I would ever be "me" again. The oxi is horrible and has left my feet quite numb but hands are now ok. I have just had number 10 so almost there...end in sight at last! Once the Oxi was ...

Re: Started back to work

Great that you are back at work with such a supportive employer. It must be a great distraction from all this stuff... good to joke with work mates... helps to see the lighter side sometimes whilst we plod on through the chemo! I believe that good friends and a sense of humour truly help us maintain...

Re: Low Anterior Resection Syndrome: Do you have it?

I was surprised to see my score was 36! My tumour was at the junction if the sigmoid colon and rectum so a section of each was removed. I didn't have an ileostomy. I have days when I don't go but more when I am back and forth, never seeming to evacuate fully. On "busy" days I get lots of s...

Re: Pooping in my pants

I seem to have days when I just don't go and then days when I don't stop... seems that things just don't evacuate like they used to.The last few days have been "busy" days back and forth to the loo then this morning....disaster everything just happened in a moment before I could get back i...

Re: Products must have list for Chemo

A really gentle face wash and moisturiser...my skin got sore patches starting after first treatment. Aqueous cream is cheap and invaluable. My cousin made up a box for me with all sorts of stuff ... little sweet treats, a lovely cushion she made with a heart on... I took it with me the first few ti...

Re: Why should I feel worse after this treatment

Just felt I had to respond to sammer... I had a rough time with the first 4 ...felt the light at the end of the tunnel was just too far away... I lost who I was and felt I couldn't take much more. Reading how you are feeling reminded me how horrible I felt back then. Yes, today I feel rubbish but I ...

Why should I feel worse after this treatment

I've just finished my 9th folfox (no oxi since 4th). Following the last treatment, I felt great.. joked that maybe I had a placebo! This time I feel rotten, dizzy, tired, digestive pains and a bit weepy and just not like me. I have little energy... last time we danced, went walking and I felt great....
