Re: daily enema HELP

Nate is it safe to use laxatives daily? When does he use it? When my GI recommended enemas, his other option was miralax daily. The goal was to empty at one sitting. I chose enemas as I had control of when I was in the bathroom. He did say as you take miralax everyday your body will adjust and you ...

Re: CLUSTERINGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!

I been slacking on Metamucil every night before I go to bed. Has anyone taking it and things are better? Sometimes I think it makes me cluster, but I have not consistently taking it every night. I am going to try to take it every night to see if it keeps everything together. Today is another day of...

Re: daily enema HELP

I wish I had some suggestions. My routine is somewhat like yours. I get up and walk for an hour, do some resistance training. I then go up to the bathroom, and do my enema. I put on music, light a candle, put a thick yoga mat down with a towel on it. I use 4 cups of water and lie on my left side wi...

Re: CLUSTERINGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!

Susie, thank you and I know you mentioned it several times before. I think I will try it before making any rash decisions. Can you provide links to what you buy from amazon? I'm having a hard time getting the link to post, but the Mikacare 13 pc enema kit on amazon for $25 is a good one. It is wort...

Re: 2 year scan

I so get the anxiety. I just had mine in April and it was clear. I'll be 4 years cancer free in September. I wonder if the anxiety ever ends.

Re: Mop up chemo - Port vs non-port for Oxi?

I did six rounds of Xelox without a port. I also didn't want another procedure. After my resection 4 weeks later was in the hospital with a bowel blockage and had to have surgery to remove scar tissue and also had my ileo reversed at the same time. I was in the hospital for 3 1/2 weeks so I asked my...

Re: Positive Cologuard testing?

This is how my cancer was found. I had seen blood a couple times on my stool but not often. I was sure it was my hemorrhoids. My doctor gave me the test and it was positive. The sample I made sure the sample I sent in did not have any visible blood. I had a clean colonoscopy 5 years before. I was im...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

I had an obstruction on Friday night and threw up several times with a lot of output. Throwing up does provide pressure relief but then it builds back up. It does look like the stomach emptied out and that's good because it's not pleasant when there is too much in the small intestine. I was ready t...

Re: Did anyone ever decide to go back to ileostomy after reversal

I know you mentioned it before and is sounds intimidating. There are days I am perfectly well and have maybe 1 bowel movement in the morning and 1 at night what I call blow outs. Sometimes I have one a day, then there are the days when I have multiple and it is really annoying as it hampers your li...

Re: Did anyone ever decide to go back to ileostomy after reversal

I do daily tap water enemas. It is very simple to do and takes about 30-45 minutes in the morning. It empties my lower bowel and allows me 24 hours of bathroom free until I do again the next morning. It takes a little time and patience to become proficient and develop a routine. There are many other...
