Re: Reversed Ileostomy 10 weeks ago. Struggling Bigtime! Hel

i don't think that much pain inside is normal. I would report this to your surgeon. Is there any bleeding?
reversals can be difficult for some. Its been difficult for me. But the pain you are describing after 10 weeks needs to be checked into.

Re: Feeling Sorry For Myself

Why do I feel depressed?
Because you just got your ass kicked by one of the most devastating things a person can go through. And no one knows that better than us.
but you are still here.
Congratulations.
You are amazing.
Be proud of it.
We are proud of you.

Re: would like input please

it takes long time to recover for many of us. it took me at least a year. there are physical rehabilations that need to be considered too. i think there is also some PSTD that one deals with , making one weary as well.
the more active you can get him to be , the better.

not sure I understand what is boring either? This sounds insensitive to me. I am happy that you have survived, but sad for the ones that haven't.

Re: And the neuropathy begins...

the symptoms you are describing are pretty much normal while taking OXI. the first bite, cold, face tremors don't necessarily indicate that you will have lingering and or permanent neuropathy. Those symptoms pretty much go away as the drug gets metabolized and flushed out . the long term sides effec...

Re: when does the clock start ticking

my onc said from the date of diagnosis. that starts the mythical 5 year countdown to a successful survival rate. is anyone ever really cured BTW? or just a prolonged remission?
I don't think there are definitive answers for any of these questions.

Luck comes in two flavors.
Getting cancer is bad luck. Surviving cancer is good luck.
So either one makes us very very lucky, doesnt it?
