Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

I have a Pet scan next week. I don't get the results until July 7th. I am not anxious but I am a little curious. My lung mets double in size every 3 months. Some of my summer plans are in limbo until I know if we are talking weeks or months left here. My wife needs to know so she can schedule her va...

Re: My Dear Husband Danny is Fading Away

My brother can not accept that I am dying and don't have much time left. He's making plans for us for next summer that would be hard to do even now. I don't have the heart to tell him differently. I just go along with him and know that his heart is in the right place and that is his way of coping wi...

Re: Repeat Colonoscopy, how often?

I am almost 5 years from DX. I have NEVER had one. I have had active cancer since the beginning so I get a lot of pet scans. I guess they must be able to see everything, many I should ask out of curiosity.

Cost of Cancer care in Canada

I live in Alberta, Canada. It is the most prosperous province. I have never paid a penny out of pocket for any cancer treatments or hospital care. I also don' pay for any drugs of any kind since I am considered in palliative care. I was wondering if patients in our other provinces pay for medical ca...

Re: One year anniversary

Don't worry about stats or what the docs pridect for your future. I have a very aggressive cancer and the doc gave me 6 to 9 months at the most. That was almost 5 years ago !! I have stopped treatments and I'm still on the right of the grass. Like the song says .... Don't worry, BE HAPPY !!

Re: The really hard part...

Cherie, I was diagnosed stage 4 and given 6 to 9 months at the most. That was almost 5 years ago! Like you, death was on my mind constantly at first. I was expecting to die at any time. The first year was the worst. It's was depressing to say the least. The cancer kept spreading and the doctor kept ...

Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

Hello everyone, I don't post very often but I come to this site several times a week. Although I have been stage four for four and a half years I feel very blessed. That is because in all this time and five major surgeries for liver, bladder, and lung mets, I have never experienced pain of ANY KIND ...

Re: Any differences Canada versus USA treatment for stage 4

Here in Alberta, Canada there is absolutely no cost to us for medical care. Almost everything is covered including drugs (cancer etc) MRI's, ct scans and Pet scans. I believe we have the best coverage out of all the provinces.
