Re: Helping husband through this difficult time

I hope he does well on it and it keeps working for him. He seems he has a positive attitude towards all of what he's going through. Thanks for the advise I appreciate it.

Re: Helping husband through this difficult time

Thank you, I actually did ask the nurse about that today. I know that my husband isn't comfortable actually going to a support group he has expressed that he wished he had someone to talk to one on one that is going through the same thing. We do know someone who is however he hasn't reached out to h...

Re: Helping husband through this difficult time

I do try and get out with friends a little bit or go for walks, but I have to say I feel guilty when I do even though I know I shouldn't but I do. Thankfully my husband encourages me to unless he is feeling really sick he doesn't like to be left alone but it's still something I'm working on.

Re: Helping husband through this difficult time

Thank you for sharing Claudine I really appreciate hearing from spouses going through the same thing. It's so hard because I really think he will give up. I feel 80% that he will not want to complete his chemo. He is doing his second right now and he just got home with his pump he wears for 46 hours...

Helping husband through this difficult time

I know everyone knows the toll the cancer diagnosis takes on everyone. This is still so strong for us. There are always so many emotions. My husband is having a very hard time with all of this, chemo, the bowel situation and he is feeling very defeated, he feels like nothing will ever be anything cl...

Re: Help with bowels

Bentyl is no longer available, but there is levsin. We went to his surgeon a few days ago and he said he is not too familiar with bentyl of levsin for tenesmus, he knows of them but said he never prescribes them. He said he was willing to if he wanted. I guess i want to be sure if he tried this he i...

What to expect when chemo is finished

Lately people keep saying things to me like, oh when he's done with chemo the after effects are still there for months, hope he doesn't experience too much of that. So hearing this has made me start to think and worry about this. His oncologist hasn't said anything about long term effects other than...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

How did you find out that you had scar tissue that causes a blockage?
Sounds like your daily regimen is working for you, that's good to hear there is hope for my husband.

Re: Help with bowels

Ok thanks, I don't think he would be able to finish the glass either at least in an adequate amount of time. He could but over hours, that's why capsules is the route we took. Ordered them. Hoping and praying this will help him get his bowels moving more regular without all the clustering. He had a ...

Re: Help with bowels

The BioCleanse is still of interest however there is no way I can get my husband to drink that much water lol. Summer maybe but not now especially with how his stomach always feels but I'm still going to keep it in the back of my mind for later. After looking more into both now we are torn, the BioC...

Re: Help with bowels

Well we actually will look into that too. When I looked it up I felt that it produced diarrhea not a normal bm is that the case? That was our only concern when you see "cleanse" you think of like what the colonoscopy prep does.

Re: Help with bowels

I think he might like trying the capsules can you put a link to the ones you take? there seems to be a lot of different napolinas. Also when you do this are you taking the miralax, napolina and the immodium all at the same time or the napolina and immodium at the same time??

Re: Help with bowels

I looked up Nopalina but there seems to be several out there, are there capsules as well? Can you send a link on which one you use? That would be great. I think he would try this. When you say it helped with the "urge" to need to go frequently was that the fiber or immodium? And did you ha...

Re: Help with bowels

Thank you, It is nice to know that there is advise here for sure. How did everyone that has found their thing to help them with their bowels, did your doctor guide you?
With the biocleanse does this produce soft to diarrhea or a more normal stool?
