Re: New to the forum

Hello nmorgen - Welcome to the forum, and thank you for creating a signature and adding your husband's MSI status. I think the next step would be to deal with the primary tumors' KRAS/NRAS/BRAF mutation status (genomic testing). Normally, the KRAS/NRAS/BRAF panel is done soon after Stage IV diagnosi...

Re: yearly colonoscopy- pre cancerous polyp 2 yrs in a row

Hi Koreysue - If you are not positive for Lynch Syndrome (HNPCC) or for Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP), then the repeated onset of polyps might be due to one of the following factors -- but this is only a guess... ⋅  It might be due to a bad diet. If so, some improvement might be not...

Re: UTSW & MD Anderson Recommendations

oldaggie2000 - Welcome to the Forum. I'm sorry to hear that your dad now has mets in the liver, so I guess this makes him StageIV-A. You have already received two good replies to your initial post, both containing good information. For the reply that you received from rp1954, I would like to sugges...

Re: Rectal bleeding 7 years out

Hello pantufla - Has your husband checked out all of the possible causes of rectal bleeding? Maybe it's one of the benign causes. I think that most of these possibilities can be checked out with a simple in-office sigmoidoscopy procedure. It's worth a try... Causes of rectal bleeding https://www.may...

ADAPT+++

Team, where can I get more info about the Adapt+++ protocol? One way to get more info on the Adapt+++ protocol is to search rp1954's past posts with keyword ADAPT. The way to do that is described here: https://coloncancersupport.colonclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=57693&p=454654#p454654 Once ...

Re: Xeloda dosing

... I’m avoiding added folate / folic acid and doing the topical treatments for the HFS (urea cream, etc) but wondering what peoples’ views on systemic treatments for side effects are that don’t interfere with efficacy ? I’ve seen decent data for celebrex (celecoxib) which seems to be synergistic w...

Re: How Often Post Recovery Colonoscopy? Aspirin?

Last year both my cardiologist and my GP insisted that I stop taking daily baby aspirin. They said it was not much use for preventing cardiovascular problems in people my age, and furthermore it was the likely cause of the many unsightly bruises and cuts that would take a long time to heal. Re: Understanding high grade dysplasia

I agree with roadrunner. Your pathology report is a bit confusing. Normally, when a biopsy is taken there is some visible abnormality that is being biopsied, like a polyp, or a mass, or a lump, or a lesion, or a tumor, etc. But in this case, the object of the biopsy is said to be a whole segment of ...
