Regarding odor issues, the literature provided by my ostomy nurse mentioned that cranberry juice can reduce output odor. I have since had a glass every morning and think it helps quite a bit. You can also get deodorant drops to put directly into the ostomy bag. They seem to have some sort of deterge...

Xeloda gives me diarrhea. Tried imodium, kaopectate, lomotil and fiber con tablets. All at the advice of my onc. I am able to control the diarrhea most successfully by taking the kaopectate and imodium together. It works so well, that I only need one imodium pill. Dr. B, my onc, said if that was not...

I think it is really admirable how you have taken charge of your illness, arizona mom. IMO a cruise along the east coast sounds reasonable. Agree with coloradowalt, that trip insurance is a good idea.
