Re: 30 and scared

Hi there, Sorry for your stress. Getting checked is the right thing to do. As to your questions about the blood- Everyone is different, but here is my experience: Blood on toilet paper was the first thing I noticed. Then I started to see it along the sides of the stool. Never enough to color the wat...

Re: Covid 19 vaccine

Hi Stu, For sure it's an individual decision. If you do get vaccine both doses have to be from same company. They actually give you a card I think so when you go back they give you right one. It's important to remember these only have emergency authorization meaning they don't have a lot of info so...

Re: Colostomy and Gas Pains

For those with Colostomies, not iloeostomies, do you get recurrent once a week gas pains that are painful and just discomforting? I think what happens to me if I don't go for the whole day, the same day i get whirring noises in my stomach and I know its gas, because I feel like it farts or releases...

Re: COVID-19 vaccine thoughts/concerns

I would urge those who intend to avoid the vaccine to reconsider. The current candidates are mRNA vaccines. They do not contain live or even whole virus, and thus cannot give you COVID-19. There were no (zero) deaths, or even serious side effects, in very robust (30,000 - 40,000 person) trials. Mor...

Re: COVID-19 vaccine thoughts/concerns

I will get the vaccine as soon as it is available to me. They had 40,000 volunteers for one of the brands and even more each for the other. They haven’t skimped on safety, they got the process sped up in regards to funding and other red tape. If you are on instagram, there are 3 people who have sooo...

Re: Anyone with a local recurrence?

So I have a pretty long and complicated history with colon cancer (will update my signature shortly), but basically 7 years after my primary diagnosis, colitis was seen in a follow-up CT scan. I did not have any symptoms or discomfort. I went for PET scan, which showed nothing. I was due for my rou...

Re: Anyone with a local recurrence?

My rectal tumor had a complete response after chemoradiation/trial drug/FOLFOX as confirmed by two biopsies a month a part. However, they spotted something on my mri which may be tumor deposits in the pelvis. I am terrified and will be biopsied this Monday. I’m praying what they see is inflammation...

Re: Anyone with a local recurrence?

... I was just not finding much info... Have you looked into the procedure called "Complete Mesocolic Excision"? I think this might be something like the "complete primary resection" that Rock_Robster was referring to. In any event, I don't think you would have much to worry abo...
