Re: Chance of cancer coming back over time

Thank you everyone! :) That makes sense. I only saw an oncologist who didn't recommend chemo. Because I didn't need chemo, I was referred back to my family doctor. My family doctor was the one in charge of sending the requisition to the hospital for yearly CT scans and tumor marker blood tests. My s...

Chance of cancer coming back over time

I was stage 2a after surgery in 2014. The oncologist said that I have a 10% to 15% chance my cancer will come back. I hope this isn't a stupid question. Does that 10% to 15% chance go down each year that I remain cancer free after surgery? I didn't do chemo because the oncologist said the side effec...

Re: How many of you take daily dose aspirin?

My GI put me on a daily low dose coated aspirin in 2018 to try to prevent ischemic colitis attacks. Unfortunately, it doesn't prevent ischemic colitis attacks but I don't see the harm in taking it.

Re: CEA small increase

I'm sorry your CEA increased. CEA can increase for other reasons such as inflammation. I hope that's the reason in your case. I'm glad the showed your lesion as stable.

Re: New here - stage 2A looking for feedback from others in similar situation

I was stage 2a in 2014. The oncologist told me that chemo would only give me a very small benefit(5%) and that the side effects weren't worth it. I only had surgery and I'm still cancer free. Because of your kidney disease and the very small benefit, I wouldn't do chemo. That it's not worth the risk...
