Re: Hellooo Neuropathyiiiiiiiiiii

Hey, just a note on my experience thus far (I've got 3 rounds of Folfox complete). 1st session - I only experienced first bite syndrome and it only lasted 1 day. No other side effects - Thought I was doing great, but labs on second session showed very low WBC. 1st session I was using 25mg CBD in the...

Re: Things people say or don't say but it's okay

Oh I have a wee confession . I am a daughter. I had trouble posting about six years ago so tried using my son's name . Stewart! He is 17 too. I am so touched your son has been so mature. My son has been great with his support when my mum is ill but he is also great at picking up on my needs too. I ...

Re: Things people say or don't say but it's okay

Hi Benben, I think your right about the path being difficult. It certainly helps your general health to be in good shape. I think we have all made numerous attempts to try and get some control on a situation that feels largely out of control . The more my mum has to endure the more I realise develo...

Re: Things people say or don't say but it's okay

Sorry guys, but healthy lifestyle is not the end all be all that some might presume. If ever anyone can attest to that it would be myself. That said I did have some years of non-healthy living in my early 20's. Probably could have done more exercise, drank less booze, ate less fast food, and smoked ...

Re: granix extreme bone pain

I get lower spine pain with Gastrofil, just different brand, feels like some one is pulling my bones apart, usually take half extra strength tylenol, and pain goes away, I sweat for few nights, like body is fighting something, had 4 folfox so far, had to delay 4th one and 5th will happen one week l...

Re: granix extreme bone pain

3) I have had 5 treatments so far with the 2nd and 3rd delayed one week. The fifth round I just BARELY got approved and that was without a week delay and with the shot and reduced dosage. It's very frustrating because they reduced dosage and still not cooperating. I hope you get some positive impro...

Re: granix extreme bone pain

Sorry you are going through this! I too have had low WBC from folfox and had to delay rounds 2 and three. I had three daily shots of neuprogen and experienced terrible bone pain. My oncologist warned me that it might feel like I am having a heart attack- wow, fun! Claritin doesn't seem to work for ...

Re: anastomotic leak and chemo delay

Hi Mich, Sorry to hear about your pain/leak. That's really a drag I'm sure. While I can't offer much advice, I did have an upper LAR performed and I experience mucus discharge about once a week or so. At first it was more frequent, but has diminished with time to once ever 1-2 weeks. About once a mo...

Anytime you have bleeding (hemorrhoids or not), a colonoscopy should be done. A colonoscopy will give a true diagnoses of what is going on, anything else is just a speculation. And your life is worth more than a speculation.

Re: granix extreme bone pain

So, last night monitored fever and finally placed call to ONC as 12:30 am because fever was holding 100.4 + for couple hours. He told me to just get some sleep and come in at regular time next morning to suss things out. I tossed and turned all night as the oxycodone wore off the bone pain intensifi...

Re: granix extreme bone pain

I have the shot almost every treatment and sometimes it's better than other times. I never know. My nurses have me take anti inflammatory along with the Claritin. I take two every 12 hours and then Claritin once every 24. I would ask my onc or the nurses about that as well. I also take the Claritin...

granix extreme bone pain

I got my first Granix (neupogen) shot yesterday to up my diminished white blood cell count, and only experience a mild pain in my right hip for like 30 minutes. Today I received my second shot and 6 hours later started getting pain in my lower spine near my herniated discs and a mild elevated temp o...

Re: Thin stool, scared

I am a 17 year old male, turning 18 next month. I have always held my stools as a child, I don't really know why, just have. This has led to serious constipatition that I have never really done anything about until about a month ago now when I had blood in my stool after I passed a very large stool...

Re: what should I expect on the first day of chemo?

Hopefully the shot works for you and you don't have to delay treatment. How low did your WBC counts have to go for them to give you a shot? My Neutrophil count was 1.05 at day 14 after first treatment (2nd infusion day). Bottom line for my clinic is 1.0 to do treatment, and they are aggressive - no...

Re: what should I expect on the first day of chemo?

so my nose has felt pretty dry for the past week or so and I had a bloody nose today. anyone else experience this? I'm pretty sure it's from the chemo since I've never had a bloody nose before. Other than that, it's been a great week so far. Round 4 starts Monday so I'm glad Father's Day is this we...
