Re: Bitterness Towards My Late Mother

My mom died a little over 4 years ago. For quite a while, I felt nothing but anger, because I felt she killed herself. She was in rehab after a couple of very minor strokes. A big part of her problem was that she weighed well over 300 pounds and had to learn to use a walker for a bit. She hated the ...

Re: Power of Attorney/Plain or Medical

We have had both for YEARS as my husband flew in the Air Force. They have been updated as our children have grown, etc. a lawyer has always done them, but we have always looked at it as protection for our family. One never knows when that 18 wheeler hits you on the freeway...it doesn't have to be a ...

Also, please realize that deductions are also related to your tax rate. If you are in the 23% tax bracket, you will receive $.23 for each dollar you deduct. It's not dollar for dollar. Very frustrating for taxpayers and even more frustrating for tax preparers who get to deliver the bad news.

Re: An open message to no one in particular

Hi Bev One of your concerns that you mentioned is correcting bad information and being the bad guy for correcting it. Thats a tough question. I have seen how others here have been treated. Accusations of killing hope with truth and the threads about it. Tough call. I have been a member of an off li...

I am so sorry for your loss. I always remember what a dear friend told me after his wife died with Breast Cancer. "The cancer is dead and gone, Dora lives forever. I can't wait to see her again for eternity."

Re: T3N1

After a rectal ultrasound, I was diagnosed as T3N0. Pathology of 5cmx5cm mas that surgeon removed showed NO invasive cancer, only high dysplasia. Scopes and PET in the last two years are negative. Ultrasound was wrong. Plain and simple.

Re: I should know the answer but really not sure

My first colonoscopy was done by a GI doc. He referred me to a colorectal surgeon for futher treatment and scopes. My husband combined his scope with hemmoroid treatment. One prep, one anesthesia...much better deal IMHO.

Re: Faith

Almost 2 years ago, a routine colonoscopy found a 5 cm tumor very low in my rectum. One rectal ultrasound and one PET scan later, i was talking to an oncologist. Onc wanted better pathology, so went to colorectal surgeon. He wanted to get tumor samples via transanal procedure because nothing would e...

Re: just diag.

I was told that my VERY low rectal tumor had gone through the colon wall via a rectal ultasound. 2nd opinion surgeon stated that pathology was needed. When he got in there via Transanal microsurgery, he found Stage 0 rectal cancer and high dysplsia. I went from needing chemo/rad, an APR to no treatm...

Re: Gaelen update - MONDAY 7/16 UPDATE

I agreed more than I disagreed, but Gaelen made me look at my life head on. She is invaluable. While her plans for hospice don't seem to be coming to fruition, she's helped me make my plans. I will miss her, especially when her views were not the most popular. "Strongest Thoughts"

I have done four preps in the last 18 mos. I could never do a gallon, but I've also learned that when I'm clear, I'm clear. No need for anything more.

Re: Urgent - General Surgeon or Colorectal Surgeon?

I personaly, would only have a colorectal surgeon. A general surgeon said that I needed an APR with an obvious colostomy, he also did an ultrasound (rectal) and said I had a T3 tumor. Colorectal surgeon said we need pathology, when he got in there, transanal, TME, it was Stage 0. Yes, I consider it ...
