Re: KRAS Mutation- any one long term NED?

My mum is not NED as she has multiple lung nodules that are inoperable. She is a NRAS mutant. Our onco also told us that there are no more drugs to use after folfiri, which made us very worried as well. Mercy I'm also NRAS mutated. After Folfox and Folfiri failed, I was put on 5FU + Erbitux before ...

Re: Possible for long term remission with only chemo?

This 5th round coming up will be just before an already planned trip. Going north for oldest grandchilds hischool graduation party. So blood wrk will be taken, Avastin and one push of 5FU, no pump this time. No Oxi so I don't have side effects for the time I'm gone. 10 days of relative normalness (...

Re: explanations of colonoscopy

My 39 year old son had his first colonoscopy yesterday, and these are the results: "A sub-mucosal, infiltrative, ulcerated and fungating non-bleeding 8 cm mass of malignant appearance and was found in the distal rectum at a distance between 8cm and 16 cm from the anus He had been bleeding and ...

One of the best things about this forum, besides CR Guy and all the other great members, is the search function. I don't know of any other groups (including FaceBook groups) that have a search function that works as well. There is a wealth of information and experience here.

Re: Xeloda "withdrawal" symptoms?

I've had hand foot syndrome since cycle 2. I've been well moisturized with Udderly Smooth. I've read that a cream with urea helps. Maybe the Udderly Smooth isn't getting to the skin layer underneath the very top - that seems like it could cause itching. Urea helps get rid of that very top super dry...

Re: Tribute to my dear friend Anne - aka BeansMama

I really thought that Annie would grow to be an old lady and see her Bean get married and have grandchildren. It's so sad that that was not to be. But Annie left a legacy of love that I hope will sustain her family and friends. Best wishes to her sweet daughter.

I just read a FaceBook post that Annie has died. She fought so hard and was such a sweet person. My sincerest condolences to all her many friends and family.

Re: RFA treatment in MSKCC - covered by insurance? costs?

We aren't patients there. We aren't wealthy and he doesn't have insurance. I need to look into getting him insurance once I'm there. Im not even sure where to start. Your father may be eligible for Medicaid if he is low income. Go to Medicaid.gov to get information on how to apply. MSK accepts medi...

Re: Why would my Oncologist say Surgery is no longer an option

Hi there. new to the forum. I was just dx with recurrant mets to the peritoneum and my Onc said that surgery is no longer an option. I am trying to understand why he automatically ruled that out. Last February I had a liver and colon ressection (They also took my gall bladder as well) and I recover...

Re: Medicare versus Private Insurance--Advice please?

When you're on SSDI, you're automatically enrolled in Medicare after 2 years. Medicare will cover 80% of your medical costs. You'll need to enroll in a prescription plan - you can find them on the Medicare website. You should have some supplemental insurance to cover the 20% that Medicare doesn't co...
