Re: immuno chemotherapy

Just wanted to chime in here as someone who's attempted a modified (minus the ongoing 5FU and IV-vitamin C) version of what rp suggests above. I do very strongly believe in the methods he describes and credit my targeted supplement regime with the fact that I've remained NED since completing my surg...

Re: Right side pain --mets?

Thank you all for your answers and support. My doctor ordered CT scan yesterday and today I got the call to see my oncologist this Thursday to discuss scan results. They would not release the results to me :(. I asked them 3 times... This must be bad news and I am very scared and nervous. Thursday ...

Re: Liver spot seen on CT...Should I be concerned??

Liver mets tend to impact CEA to a much greater extent than mets in places like the lungs or lymph nodes. Time and again I've seen posters for whom CEA was never a good marker (I'm in the same boat) get sudden big jumps with liver involvement. An increase from .9 to 1.0 is not in any way significant...

The only person I am aware of who has not done Oxi as a stage IV is rp1954's wife.

Re: Cimetidine anyone?

Hi Sara, Are you referring to IV Vitamin C? If so, there are definitely a few posters here who have tried it with good results. Again, rp1954 would probably be your best resource. There was a member named Cherie a number of years ago who used it to great great effect as well. Hope this helps. Good l...

Re: Cimetidine anyone?

I've been taking 800mg daily since shortly after my diagnosis in 2014 and I do believe strongly that it helps--particularly in the immediate pre- and post-surgical periods.

Re: Another CEA thread...

Hi Jesse, Welcome to ColonTalk! You've definitely come to the right place for information. This board and its archives are a terrific resource. Am I correctly understanding that your wife's doctor found peritoneal mets at the time of her initial surgery? If so, did they remove what they saw or just ...

Re: ADAPT and Celebrex - What happened?

Really good question. I don't have an answer to the piece about the study but I do know there were a number of people here doing the protocol. Pretty sure several of them are still on it. Check out the profiles for Sophy and DBF, both of whom are Stage IV and longer-term NED. I think Betsydoglover d...

Re: BrownBagger ....... I don't know what to say

So incredibly saddened by this news. Like others, I guess I expected that BrownBagger would be with us forever. I think of his motto often-- "Live your life like it's going to be a long one, because it just might, and then you'll be glad you did." There are many who "talk the talk&quo...

Re: PET Scan Results - More Cancer???

Christine, I know you have concerns about the healing process from surgery, but if you're going to do chemo, I'd be careful not to delay too long. There is some research (see link below) suggesting a lower survival rate for every week past 4 that the start of chemo is postponed. Seems like there's a...

Re: DK37 Blog: ASCO 2017 Best MSS CRC Presentation/Clinical Trial

Definitely a positive development to see this kind of approach having an impact on MSS disease, although I worry a bit about the durability issue. I was so excited to see that JulieYW made it into this trial but it seems (from her blog) that the results were extremely short-lived. Thanks as always f...

Re: Time to decide whether to do chemo or just observe

Dan, IF you're not sure about doing chemo, one alternative would be doing an immunotherapy trial with a vaccine to prevent recurrence Immunotherapy trial for those NED : http://coloncancersupport.colonclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=56485 A fellow on this board, Maellous , went recently for it, be...
