Re: Pathology report

I dunno about the U.S....but over here you do not get a report without specifically asking for it. And I make sure I always get all of my reports. Why? Because most doctors don't have the time to sit down with you and explain everything line by line. IF you're one of those folks who's OK with that.....

Re: CEA question

I don't think CEA has anything to do with lymph node involvement. It is a marker for tumour activity.

My condolences Eric. It is a double whammy for you to lose your dad to cancer and to be fighting this disease yourself.

Re: Switching from 5FU to Xeloda

Belle, I think if it wasn't for Xeloda, I honestly think I wouldn't have gone thru the full 6 mos tx. The nausea and scraping pain in my my colon was just getting worse and worse on FolFox. After about 3 tx's of Folfox..you can imagine my total shock when it was my onc's idea to switch me! I had vir...

Re: O/T "pink" rant/vent (read at your peril)

Give 'em hell Harry!! LOL.... But honestly...I am in total agreement with you on this! And especially now with October being the pink month. Seems as if every year there are more and more pink products on the shelves just rubbing it all in that BC is ''out of the closet'' and CRC is still only discu...

Re: Downstaging?

Yep...what Jaynee says. The only way I can think this could happen is like Jaynee said, a mistake was made and new information overrides the old. Very very rare I would think!

Now...''up-staging''....that I think is a lot more common!

Re: Moving to hospice

I am very sad to read this. Tim was a regular here and he always seemed like such a nice person. I never know what to say at times like these....but just know we care. Thinking of both of you.

Re: R.I.P. - Trish and Ginny

Thanks everyone for your lovely words. Both women were real troopers...they fought this damm disease and never gave up...we're talkin' clinical trials, HIPEC, etc. They pushed themselves and their onc's. In the end, Ginny suffered a stroke and Trish ended up in a coma for about a week before she pas...

Re: How long does hand/foot syndrome last after Xeloda?

Hi Kims, Sounds like a little of both. I was also on 5FU and then onc switched me to Xeloda because the oxali was really tough on my G.I. tract and also my fingers started to do bizarre things and my jaw would lock and get achy...and all sorts of other neurological stuff. That did clear up...but as ...

Yes and no. Unfortunately both ladies went thru some very rough times...and that's difficult to forget. Thanks for your thoughts.
