Re: Immunotherapy trial for those NED

BTW Maia, wanted to thank you. I flew up to Pittsburgh yesterday and right now about to walk over for my final vaccination. I am in arm 6 getting the high dose of both INO-1400 + INO-9012. The electroporation sucks, but other than that, no side effects and god-willing, it works and I don't get cance...

A Nontoxic Pill May One Day Replace Chemotherapy, Researcher Says

http://giving.clevelandclinic.org/articles/nontoxic-pill-replace-chemotherapy?utm_campaign=catalyst+enews&utm_medium=email&utm_source=catalyst1706&utm_content=nontoxic+pill+replace+chemotherapy I'm REALLY surprised there isn't more media attention about this... seems fantastic if it make...

Re: Been a while / updates / clnical trial

Yes that is the one! Sorry I was thinking 1500 but it is the 1400 plus the other. Thank you about the cheo - I have been told that by a few doctors, I am a bit short in comparison but holding out hope! I know most people get chemo/radition first, but since I was staged 2 instead of 3C prior to surge...

Re: Reversal Qeustions

Thanks everyone.

@del -- I was told by the Research Oncologist at UPMC said would be able to see on the CT scans local reoccurance if it was a certain size, but that does seem to fly in the face of what I have been told other times.

Re: Been a while / updates / clnical trial

Thank you for the link Maia! I "can" afford it so don't want to take a seat from someone who can't. It hurts financially but I only have two trips left and I have already bought and paid for them. The one I am doing is the INO-1500. I am in arm 6 (which I hoped for) that gives me the high ...

Reversal Qeustions

I get my last CT scan for the clinical trial I am in on July 6th, praying all is still clear, and then I will have my reversal done. I asked he doctor about a colonoscopy etc and he responded: "Since you can't be prepped a follow colonoscopy would be done after stoma closure. Prior to closure a...

Re: Surgery is over

Good luck! Keep walking, your sig bio sounds similar to mine (except I didn't do the chemo first.) The ileostomy takes a while to get used to, but after having mine for 8+ months, you get more used to it than you would think. Will be happy to have it reversed though!

Been a while / updates / clnical trial

Hey all -- it has been a few months since I have posted. I had to take a break from reading about cancer stories for a while, as I just coudn't mentally handle it for a while. I'm 36 as of this part march. I had rectal cancer, ended up being stage 3C as the lymph nodes did not show anything pre-surg...

Re: Stage 1 folow up CT scan

I was stage 3C and had to stop chemo after 3 rounds due to cardiac arrest from the chemo and they only had me doing CT scans every 6 months. I had the arrest this past December 31s and because I entered a clinical trial for a vaccine got one in March, and will be getting one on July 6th and then won...

Vaccine Clinical Trial

I was finally able to find and (looking positive) to get into a vaccine clinical trial. For those of you who hadn't seen my previous posts, I had 3 rounds of chemo and cardiac arrest on the 3rd round in December. I have been searching for other options to avoid reoccurance but the docs stated radiat...

Re: Not allowed to do chemo / nervous

Thank you for that post Painintheass, I really needed to hear that right now! Got a second opinion from Moffitt yesterday. The doc here was good, but basically said the same thing as Cleveland Clinic - said they met with a panel because my case is rare and unique. Said chemo wouldn't be worth the ri...

Re: Weight gain post surgeries

The only issue with that is that I can't do chemo because of my cardiac arrest so my risk of reoccurrence is higher... worried if I eat like crap I will make my reoccurrence risk even higher. Trying to decide if weight or healthy food is more important. Thanks for the response!

Weight gain post surgeries

Hi all, Prior to my rectal resection I weighed about 195lbs (I'm 6''4''), which is about 10lbs more than I had traditionally weighed. I switched to an ultra healthy diet once I suspected I had cancer and exercised super heavily and dropped to about 185 in two months. After the resection I lost about...
