Re: Skin discoloration of hands (not palms) and arms from Xelox

My mom has just finished her 5th cycle of Xelox. She does have brownish spots on her hands but nothing noticeable if you don't look really close. Our onc said it should go away with time once chemo is done.

Re: Does lung mets cause coughing?

Lung mets themselves may not cause coughing. Pulmonary effusion caused by lung mets does, most likely with also shortness of breath. My mom (stage 4 with "invisible" lung mets) had it before. I am not sure but probably that it was ruled out by the onc as you seem to have had multiple scans...

The number was 175, still in normal range but our oncologist suggested to wait a few days for it to recover for the long run. ...

Re: WHAT TO EXPECT? - Stage IV mom, cancer cell found in pleural fluid without visible tumor on CT and PET

First, don't pay attention to stats!!! They include everyone that has additional underlying health conditions as well. Coming from a stage IV patient, they mean nothing to me. My stats are what I make them. Attitude has a lot to do with how well or how poorly someone does in my opinion. Staying pos...

WHAT TO EXPECT? - Stage IV mom, cancer cell found in pleural fluid without visible tumor on CT and PET

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, just reaching out for the first time as my mom (64 yrs old) was diagnosed with colorectal cancer that has metastasized. She had colostomy 4 years ago after a tumor was found in the colon. That was when the disease was still at a very first stage. PET scan a few m...
