No, they aren't if you understand what they are and you are of a nature that values the info they contain.

Re: In a funk...can anybody relate

yep, yep, yep. It does come and go, Richard. This is the only place I moan to anymore, the others don't understand or are tired of the "journey". D2, I saw GFR at least 3 times. Remember the wall of speakers? It's amazing I can still hear... Did you know that Mark Farner is now an evangeli...

Re: Oxycodone hcl 5mg , codeine sulfate 5mg.

I've used oxycodone. It's the only opioid that doesn't make me too miserable to manage. It was effective, erased some of the pain and made me not care so much about what remained. And I sleep like a baby when I'm on it -- albeit with some mighty weird dreams. Since I mostly only took it at night, I ...

Oh, ain't that the truth! Stage IV sucks.

Re: Hipec again

I would have any surgery, no matter how tough, if it gave me a fighting chance at a cure. Chemo-for-life sucks. And three years life extension when average survival with chemo is only three years? Sounds like a really good trade-off to me even if it doesn't cure. One question: how experienced is you...

Re: My onc is leaving...

Hi Delinda, I understand! It's like a larger case of that feeling when we finish our first go-round of chemo and then only see the doc once a month. Where is our helper, supporter, defender? I will tell you a bit of my story, though. When things got complicated for me, I went to MDA for a second opi...

Re: Anyone else suffer from "chemo brain"?

It is so interesting to read all these responses. When I was first kidnapped, chemo brain was still something that doctors denied existed, yet look at all our stories. I would love to take an IQ test; I know what mine was once, been tested twice, yet now... nowhere near as sharp in my analytical thi...

Re: Are your oncologists like politicians, too?

I've had to reframe my view of my oncologist's job. I went into this thinking that he (my first) was actually thinking about my case. I felt he cared about me in a human sense, but after a while I realized that lasted only as long as the appointment did. No doctor of mine (and I've had three main on...

Re: Night sweats after chemo.....

As one who has been in the trenches for a long time, I can tell you I no longer try to second guess cancer from any one symptom, even pain. Things with my body come and go and rarely seem to correlate with the cancer to a great degree. Except CEA, which is a good indicator for me.

They will reevaluate me in a 5-7 year window. That's the longest time between evaluations possible. Not worried, lol! If you are healthy at that point, celebrate!

Re: FOUNDATION ONE TESTING

Julie, Medicare refused to pay mine and I guess no one got preauthorization; Medicare takes good care of patients and they refused to let the company bill me because I had not been informed that it would likely be denied. I never heard another word about it. I have been told by the research center t...
