Re: Cea on the rise

This is why I refused to let my significant other or family get too involved in my treatment, I felt that as the person undergoing the rigors of cancer I was not going to dump on them more than they already have to deal with. I did my own research, found the medical facility and treatment that I wan...

Re: Cea on the rise

Sounds like it's time to go straight to MSK and find out what the hell is going on. Far from an expert here, but I had the impression that the pump with FUDR is supposed to work in tandem with systemic chemo, and for some reason your H was left off of systemic chemo for months, and his HAI pump has...

Re: Cea on the rise

Think hard about removing the pump at this point, remember once it’s out it CAN NOT BE PUT BACK AGAIN, ever.

Re: Cea on the rise

Darn! Sorry to hear this, sounds like the team at OSU weren't up to speed. Any chance you two can go to MSK to address these issues? I'm sure they'll know what to do fast.

Re: Cea on the rise

Try not too be too stressed about this. Seems that no one knows yet exactly what is causing the CEA rise. It’s possible that it’s temporary and not cancer related. I would concentrate on recovery, stress relief and healthy eating. Do the PET scan, take it from there. it’s a bit early to panic in my ...

I feel your pain, be strong. Are you been seen at a well regarded cancer hospital? If not try to find one. There are various treatments and therapies that your local clinic or oncologist does not have access to. Don’t give up hope.

Peace

Just pointing out that anal cancer is different from colorectal cancer. Anal cancer is of different cellular origin, cause and treatment, and more fatal

10 years since diagnosed

It was 10 years ago today when I found out I had cancer after a colonoscopy. What a trip, don’t wish it on anyone. But, things have turned out ok. A combination of good medical care, self care and luck got me to today. Being on the board helped me out a lot, grateful. Best to all in the middle of it...

Great news, I think your keto diet is something a lot of us cancer people should explore. Makes sense to me.

Re: I stand up to use the word cure(d)....

Well said!! I use CURED as well, no reservations. There are some on this board that dwell in the negative and love pointing out people’s slightest errors in their posts. Judgmental types like that make it hard to come on the board sometimes. Keep posting, you were one of those who helped me get thro...

Re: The Liver Spots they missed

Looks like the treatment protocol was followed. 19 of 32 positive nodes is a lot, usually means cancer has spread beyond the original spot. Sometimes tumors are missed as they are too small or diffused and only become apparent with time. They can’t treat what they can’t see. I probably had a couple ...

Possibly as the drug has been recalled. You should search and see if there’s a class action suit brewing somewhere.

Mine was removed at five years. It was very easy, went home the same day. Was very glad to have the thing removed.
