Re: Radiation: Why yes or no?

Personally I think when we have been thru what we have it's only natural to have it on our minds most all the time. During all the stuff we have to do and appointments we have to keep and test we have to take and stuff we have to swallow and when we're supposed to swallow it, it has to be on our min...

Re: Ileostomy rash?

I had my ostomy for only one year but one thing I had to make of was to make sure the area is dry.....dry....day. I got a rash too. Along with keeping it dry I had to make sure I changed every three day. I was trying to get more wear time from the flange and bags but it was not smart. I wore a two p...

Re: Folfox and hair loss -does it usually happen or not?

I lost about 3/4th of my thick head of hair. I DID NOT cut my hair, I let it grow long. I bought a really cute straw hat at Target and made hat bands in red, navy blue and black out of ribbon. You can color coordinate your color according to you mood or outfit. My hair was probably shoulder length a...

Re: For Stage III's: NED for how long now?

I love this thread. I stopped reading posts at about page 9 or 10. I got the Big C in Oct of 2002, in March of '03 the pathology report said I was NED and have been ever since......my dad and my oldest brother had the same cancer as me. Quote "very near the sphincter muscle" for all three ...

Everyone has said what I want to say, but they said it better than I could. Scream all you want, we hear you. May God keep you and your family in His care.

Does chemo affect the color of teeth?

That's my question. I have never had really white teeth, but they are so yellow now. I'm 70 so getting my teeth whiten is not something I'm going to do. I'm just going to live with it. But I would like to know if that's one of the side effects.

Thanks

Re: BUTT HURT

Well here is my simple pain reliever, butt pain reliever I mean. I sit in the bathtub with the hottest water I can stand. The water is so hot it leaves my skin bright red, NO SOAP, just water. When I can't stand the heat any more I get out. I dry off and make sure, did I say "make sure" th...

Re: When to tell my son about my diagnosis

Only you are the best judge of when and where to tell your children. Children will react differently. I agree that they don't always need to know all the details. But, again, your the best judge of how much information you give them.

Blessings

Re: Gratitude Thread

September before my dx my friend from age 14 got in touch with me and we have been "sister less-sisters" since. After high school we naturally went our own directions. She moved to Illinois and I moved to the desert. We each had kids and life went on for both of us for almost 40 years. The...
