Second that.

Re: How do you deal with all other obligations

You can't make everyone happy, and with all on your husband's and your plates you can't even come close. That's a hard truth that most of us long-term stage IVers learn. One thought: has your husband sat down face-to-face with his brothers and explained clearly his limitations with the intention of ...

Re: Anybody know anything about this trial?

How do you evaluate trials if you are not a doctor?? It's tough! I presume you have scoured the literature via pages-deep Google searches? I believe urelimab has been tried in non-solid tumors, so there should be something out there. Sometimes drugs have several names as they go through development...

Re: Favorite nausea meds

Yes to the cannabis, and your mom can take it in edible form if she doesn't want to make like Willie and smoke it. Also, I have found lorazepam (Ativan) to be better for my nausea than the other meds. It's normally an anti-anxiety med, but for some reason it helps with chemo nausea. When I had a rea...

Re: The Grim Reaper took another swipe at me !!

Dear Fenchie, I am saddened to read your post, just like so many others here who care about you. I know you wanted to spend your last days in the mountains, and I'm sorry if that is not to be. Yet as I was thinking about this, it occurred to me that it is a strong person who has dreams until the end...

My MDA onc also said 5-FU bolus hasn't been shown to help, nor the leucovorin, they just make side effects worse. Didn't question it, just glad for a break. For whatever reason, my counts have always been good... so lucky me, I'll get the juice and think of you!

Re: Scan Results .... Not good news

Deb, this just sucks and I'm sorry. If it is of any help, I too have "innumerable" mets (liver) and they haven't grown much going on 3 years now. Fall apart, eat ice cream, I know you'll come out swinging. btw, I looked into that study briefly earlier today for another poster, and it does ...

Re: Second line treatment after FOLFOX fail

Oh, I feel silly. I had Celebrex on the brain and misread. I see the trial is with cetuximab. I'm on it, and it's a pain, but seems to be effective. Ignore the Celebrex comments, sorry! Don't think I messed up on anything else.

Re: Second line treatment after FOLFOX fail

Katy, the TIL study may be a good option for your dad, and it is good you are collecting info. But be sure and check what results have been had in humans to date. I took a quick look at vemurafenib and it is heartening that it has shown some success for melanoma. From what I saw it looks like they a...

Re: Social Security Disability Benefits

Thanks, Rob! For all who are thinking about SSDI, my experience has been that it is a very fair system with folks who really want to help. I was not at all sure about that when I started the process and I was pleasantly surprised every step of the way. mstults, I don't know if you've gotten to the M...
