Re: TIL Immunotherapy at NCI

Lol Kenny I wish I had an exotic reason why I chose that name! I think the one I had wanted was already taken and I had to think fast! I live in Florida and all my "real" treatment gets done at UF (that's were my GI oncologist is and where I had Y90 and surgery) - that is gator land - wher...

Re: Faith, Maia's Friend has passed

I just saw this post Maia and wanted to tell you how sorry I was to hear this news... I have only "known" you for a short time and think the world of you, your compassion, dedication, the time and energy you give us all is so precious, I hope you are able to feel the love everyone has sent...

Re: TIL Immunotherapy at NCI

Just started following this post! My name is in the hat for the fruit fly study in NY but am starting to think this trial would be great! I meet my second opinion doc in a few weeks and will bring it up -

Please keep us posted!

Excited for you too Kenny!

Re: Another wait and see story from BC - but it sounds hopef

Thanks CRguy for posting. I have been on the BC cancer website scouring for information about POG and didn't find much (or didn't find what I was looking for). I must admit though that I didn't go through the articles posted in Nature, it was a bit too hard for me to understand… I found a link to th...

Re: Another wait and see story from BC - but it sounds hopef

I'm kind of new here but have had Stage 4 colon cancer for 18 months... I live in the US but am Canadian! I have been super interested in this POG program at BC cancer center but cannot find much information on it. Does anyone know how they test the different drugs on the tumors? Do they use mice mo...

Re: The Trifecta: Colon Cancer, Young Parents, Young Kids

Thank you so much for starting this thread! I was diagnosed last month with Stage IV colon cancer (sadly my liver has innumerable mets and am not a candidate for a resection). I had just turned 40 years old and have 2 boys (7 and 9 years old). All this was such a shock as I was otherwise very health...

Re: Just Diagnosed With Stage IV Colon Cancer

I too was just diagnosed (8/15/2013) - Like most who posted on this thread, I am a mom (just turned 40) - They found the mets on my liver before they found the primary in my colon. Since my liver was so invaded, there was no time for a colon resection so they started me on chemo right away. I am gla...
