Re: Breast Cancer

Breastcancer.org is a site to go to. There are many forums in it for all types of breast cancer. Good luck!

Trial of Dronabinol and palonosetron

I've been approached about participating in a trial for the use of Dronabinol and palonosetron for controlling nausea while on chemo. Anybody have any thoughts about this stuff?

Re: food cravings

The day after chemo (today) I want all sweets all the time!!! It's the only thing that doesn't taste metallic or salty. Chocolate covered donuts, chocolate yogurt, Tin Roof ice cream.......I just went to the store and loaded up on the stuff. However, I cannot handle anything with salt right now. A t...

Re: TP Alert

I always carry my own TP, I don't like the quality of the paper in public rest rooms'. toughest roughest stuff EVER. I also carry baby wipes for sensitive skin and boy do I have sensative skin after radiation. Hey' we need some Colun Club squirt water bottles to use for "cleaning". What a ...

Re: Probiotics?

I took Culturelle after my chemo and radiation treatments were finished because that is when I found out about it on this forum. I would probably have started it sooner (with raddoc and oncs approval) because it did help me get my bm's frequency better (not cured though). Radiation has been the hard...

Re: Do you have a bag packed?

I pack the bag for my weekly chemo treatments, my hubby (best caregiver EVAH) can do many things, this isn't one of them. I have snacks, ( he eats more of them than I do) my OWN toilet paper because it's rough at hospital, water', caps since my now bald head gets cold, laptop for the hubby, my Kindl...

Re: Xeloda and bowell movement question

I had this same problem while I had radiation and Xeloda. The pain would be awful and I had to just lay down with my feet up for a while. I would suggest getting some calmoseptine and putting it around the area. It sure has helped me and I'm 3 yrs. out from radiation. The pain does diminish over tim...

Re: Breast Cancer fight

Thanks for the info everyone. I really have to say that the people on this site are so positive and helpful. Not to say that the Breast Cancer forums aren't helpful, just there is a lot more of the "woe is me" outlook that I don't subscribe to. I'm a fighter and plan on staying that way fo...

Re: Breast Cancer fight

I'm doing well on the chemo. I had lumpectomy Jun4 and have had 3 tx of Taxol (going for 12 in all). Then will get FAC 4 tx. That's the combo I dread since it's harder on you from what I've read. Still debating about the radiation among the docs. Mine was caught early and no lymph nodes involved. ya...

Breast Cancer fight

Just wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with breast cancer after colorectal? I am currently going thru Taxol treatments for BC. I had anal cancer in 2008 treated with rad, Xeloda and Oxi. Docs at MDA say no METS from the anal to BC. Will be getting genetic testing in July. Will that show if I ha...

Re: What have you ELIMINATED since diagnosis???

I eat lots of veggies and chicken, very little red meat. My DH does all the cooking, so sometimes I have to eat what's in front of me. LOL. I also gave up Diet cokes and most ice creams. I finished my chemo/radiation in 2008 and STILL suffer from the side effects, so most of what I've given up has a...

Re: SOS ---Radiation burn on backside relief!!

I have never used Calmoseptine. I did have surgery for a fistula that was caused by the radiation/chemo burn. Wish I had known about this. Is there any special way you use it?
