Re: Mike+Popcorn= MAJOR TROUBLE!!!!

So sorry this had happened but know it will help at least one other person - me. This week is our town festival and I was looking forward to Kettle Corn. Now? I'll abstain.

Re: Terrified of having Chemo

...My oncologist said not to colour it during chemo or for at least 6 months after... My sister, a hairdresser, also said NO permanents. In fact, she said nothing to do with chemicals on the hair and she said to be careful about your blow dryer settings and curling irons, etc. (Like we have the ene...

Re: cant swallow pills!!!

I didn't at the time but now wonder if I would if I had to take them again. Ask your doc about cutting them in half in order to get them down. That's what I'm doing with my multivitamin. Hope this helps!

Re: Terrified of having Chemo

I'll just add my 2¢ to the chorus - everyone reacts differently to chemo. If I've learned nothing else on this board, I've already learned that. My hair started thinning after my Zeloda regimen was over but the pic in my avatar was taken after I started adjuvant chemo and, as you can see, there's st...

Re: my port is out

Congrats!! I know it's a relief to get it out. The other night, DH and I were discussing whether to ask to keep it in as long as possible after my treatment or not. Since it was a $14000 bill at the hospital plus the surgeon and anesthesiologist bill (we don't have insurance), we decided that I woul...

Thanks! I will definitely do that! They have helped with the nausea though.

Re: Ginger & Colorectal Cancer?

Kelly,
I noticed it didn't say what form of ginger either. Of course, I've been keeping ginger snaps close by for nausea but I think I will mention to the sibs that adding to their diet couldn't hurt...and it's good!

Re: Newbie here

Thanks, guys! I'm just so glad to find a place where I know people know exactly what it feels like. After I posted earlier, I got so nauseated again. More couch time and slowly eating ginger snaps and, finally, taking a Phenergan. Sheesh! I told DH to help me remember to explain the nausea is coming...

Re: Newbie here

I agree! Bless my husband's heart, he already has seen so much and heard so much from me. I feel this might be a place where I can vent, praise, whine, etc., and alleviate some of the pressure on him.

Re: Time for a new song

This is my favorite thread so far! I had to copy and paste the first song and send it to my sister 'cause we have the same sense of humor. Thanks so much for bringing laughter into my day!

Re: Chemo easier before or after surgery?

So far, the adjuvant chemo is easier than the neoadjuvant. I was on Zeloda - 3 pills twice a day 7 days a week. By the 4th week, I had to take a day off and I was able to get through it. I was fatigued, nauseated (taking Zofran and Phenergan fairly constantly), constipated (see the anti-nausea meds ...

Re: This means war pink :) The Final Straw

Well now I don't feel so guilty when I roll my eyes at all the pink stuff and how everything's about breast cancer. I didn't even know until today, on this board, there was a colorectal cancer month!!

Newbie here

I've been reading the posts here for about a week on the recommendation of someone on the ostomy board. I've been smacking my head ever since wondering why I hadn't looked for this place before. Then I realized that I'm just now able to sit up long enough to read and enjoy the posts. I'm in between ...
