Re: Recurrence - The Longest Month

Then I had a PET Scan and my world came undone all over again. Multiple areas scattered over my retroperitoneum/bowel/pelvis lit up. The plan is to take it a day at a time. Every tool is being kept in the bucket including HIPEC. But will start with chemo and see what happens. Wish me luck everyone....

Re: CT Scan contrast injection and kidneys, advice, please

Ethel - I'm really glad you started this topic. I'm particularly interested in the information as I've now developed an allergic reaction to the contrast dye as of this year's scan (never had this problem in the past). As part of that treatment, they asked me to push fluids as hard as I possibly cou...

Re: First Scan Since Completing Treatment

Hey all, I finished my second round of chemo March 15th, and had my first CT scan yesterday. I find out the results tomorrow, and am so nervous! I had a CT scan in October for a surgery related issue and it did not show any new masses or metastases. Has anyone had their first scan come back with ne...

Re: For Stage III's: NED for how long now?

Celebrating my 3-year scan results coming back CLEAN yesterday, so I am now officially 3 years NED. As ibcaree so eloquently said, God gets all the credit. I have been blessed with a wonderful support system (including all of you), an excellent surgeon, and the faith that sustains me daily. The book...

Re: O/T - my furbaby has cancer....hard last weekend - UPDATED

Jaynee, just wanted to add my hugs to this post. You did the right thing. It must have been so hard. When I finished chemo I celebrated by adopting my own grumpy kitty furbaby, and I know I'll face the same thing at some point in the future because she was already a little older when we adopted her....

Re: Finally reached the 'forgot I had cancer' spot!

This was beautiful to hear, Diane. :) I'm not quite to the forgot I had it place in my life yet, but I am happy to be able to say my 3 year scans just came back clean yesterday (although I've developed an allergic reaction to the contrast dye). Hopefully in another couple years I can join you in hea...

Re: Question about Xeloda scheduling/timing differences

For stage 3s, 5FU intensity rather than long durations repeatedly seems to be a key success factor in permanently rooting out residual cancer cells or clusters. Just like some of the 3-4 month vs 6 month success rates, your catch on the 8 day peak is interesting. My question is for kill optimizatio...

Re: Xeloda One week on/one week off dosing

The original article mentioned in the other thread was a posting on Medscape by Dr. Marshall from Georgetown in Washington, DC. Here is a link to the other thread with a copy of the article pasted into the original posting but unfortunately the original poster took down the link to the Medscape art...

Re: Question about Xeloda scheduling/timing differences

There have been several threads about xeloda but I can't find where there's a discussion about different timing schedules. It appears that most people are on cycles of 2-3 weeks on and then a week off. Has anyone been on a shorter cycle and then changed to a longer one - or vice versa? I'm getting ...

Re: Stage IV, 26 weeks pregnant, Merry Christmas!

So is it normal to feel just fine? I mean, I have a freaking 4.7cm mass of cancer in my liver and my daily routine hasn't changed. Nothing has changed. My kids don't treat me any different, lord knows they haven't taken on any more housework. My husband doesn't coddle me, everything is normal...

Re: I need help deciding treatment after surgery!! THIS isn't Easy!!

Hi CharlesT. I think it's great that you're doing research on your choices prior to making them. It looks as if you've already gotten some great information from the others, so I won't repeat any of that. What I will say is this - I also did a lot of research before making my decisions, and although...

Sounds right, Deep. I have same staging as you, and most charts have me as 3b (some still say 3a).
