Re: Larry has an eviction date!!!

Hi , All the very best for your surgery . My mum had 73% of her liver removed . She was told the same information as you . She pressed forward . I said goodbye to her the day before her operation as though it was any other day . I gave her a little wave . She left a little folded guest towel on her ...

Re: So they said it was a hemorrhoid...

Hi , I will let you read my signature relating to my mum. I thought it might encourage you to know that pre chemo her lymph nodes were large and reactionary around the Colon tumour . A very significant secondary spread had set up camp in her liver . Post chemo there was no evidence on the scan of ly...

Re: I looked at my mom's rectum and....

That was quite something to do that for your mum. I have tried my best to look after my mum for the last eight years . When I read your post every part of me thought " Nope ... never... thank goodness my sister is a nurse"
Well done you,

Re: Lung Met = half year life?

Hi, Your friend is sincerely wrong given everyone is different and even the Dr can only give a statistical average . My mum had a lung met and the watched it grow slowly for the best part of two years before we even knew about it . It was so slow growing . There are many treatment options and certai...

Re: O/T...Post Your Pics Here

That's a very fitting tribute. I think it would have pleased him . Still going to need a little help with my photos. But that's what teenage sons are for!! I love my garden but feel a little garden envy at the space you have. You have a lovely garden . I bought my house as it has a little burn runni...

Re: Thoughts on new plan

Hi , My mum never did post surgery chemo but she was significantly older . Despite not having had chemo since 2010 she has done not too badly . The only reason I am writing , apart from to wish her all the very best, if it becomes to much for her then I hope my mum's story will reassure her that it ...

Re: CT Scan said, "colon consistent with cancer"

Hi , Welcome to the forum . I am trying to get a handle on your story . Despite your reservation with Doctors you did feel comfortable enough to use that mechanism to assist with diagnosis? Maybe cautious with any form of treatment? I am married to a doctor but despite that feel if you are making an...

Re: new board member

Hi , Welcome to the board. I will leave others to discuss with you the best way to handle the oncologist as I am not from your area . However initially we felt as though the oncologist steam rolled over my mum with his approach . It seemed without compassion or advocacy on her behalf . With time tha...

Re: Fast growing cancer

My mum oddly has had both. Her liver tumours popped up quickly and grew quickly. One recurrence was immediate and sizeable . However it was the speed and rate of cell division that made them disappear just as quickly with chemo . Then quick removal with surgery before they could do any move harm . H...
