Re: Felt like a experiemental monkey today

Richard, That's a funny story! I need neck surgery and went the other night for a medical clearance exam. My primary care doctor was palpating my abdomen and said, "what's this?" I thought of having fun with her and saying I had a big burrito for lunch but decided not to. I told her all ab...

Re: Debbie Rech-Whitmore on PBS' Frontline tonight.

Found the link for the short documentary about Debbie at http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/health-science-technology/being-mortal/what-matters-most-to-you-in-the-end/. What a courageous and loving person she was. I never met Debbie but I think about her often and pray that her husband and boys...

Re: Debbie Rech-Whitmore on PBS' Frontline tonight.

Cptmac,

I watched the video and found it moving and informative. I cried a number of times during. I did not see, however, any mention of Debbie. Did I miss something?

Thx!

Re: Allergic Reaction At Treatment Time

During my 7th infusion I had a reaction. It was the second treatment after my liver resection. My sister was with me and about 1 minute after Oxali started infusing I had a very metallic taste in my mouth. It felt so different from the previous infusions and I asked my sister to get the nurse. I was...

Stephen,

Your post was a testament to the love you and Ashley shared. I went back to the photos you posted and I was so happy to be reminded of all the living you did, especially while she was in treatment. I know she will be looking down on you from Heaven.

My most sincere condolences,
Amy

Re: Question for those with an HAI pump

I will be at 53rd on Feb 8 and 'March 2. If anyone needs I can pick up the glycerol (if that truly can be done) and take it to local Fedex to mail. If it has to be kept cold, however, you will need to look into shipping container requirements. There is a Control Temp Packaging 10X10X10 Kit on Amazon...

Re: Is there any way to tell how long you have had cancer?

Ritz, My doctor told me it was probably about 10 years for me. My largest liver met was 5cm by 5cm. I was also 39 (colonscopy on my birthday!) when I was diagnosed. If I think on it now I always had stomach pains in my early 20's and doctors put me on antacids for a long time. Maybe that's when it s...

Re: Really impressed with MSKCC

TR, Your post resonated with me as I also have a strong belief in God and there were many events in my diagnosis and treatment that only reinforced my feelings. MSKCC is an impressive place. The local commercial with the tagline "The Best Cancer Care, Anywhere" really resonates with me. I ...

My little one's sixth birthday....

Tuesday, November 4, we celebrated my little one's 6th birthday. It was an emotional day for me as I had never thought years ago when she was a newborn that I would see this day. Immediately after Katie was born the attending doctor was feeling "around" my uterus and felt a suspicious bump...

Re: 31 year old pregnant daughter diagnosed with stage 4

I am so sorry that your daughter has received this news, especially at a time that should be filled with just joy. It was discovered that I had Stage IV colon cancer while actually delivering our third child via c-section. At the time I was also told I had a terminal illness and should plan for 22-2...
