Re: Should we move the scan up?

I had a rising CEA through Adjuvant Chemo and it went above normal so the oncologist ordered a scan which showed nothing (though it's a relief). It turned out to be exercise related as I increased my exercise regularly while I was undergoing chemo. I think that there are a few known things that are...

Re: First CT results are in..

Great news AmyG :) Wishing you a good response to chemo.
Btw, (You have no info in your signature) do you now if you have any mutations and if you are MSS or MSI? I presume that they tested your resected colon tumor..
Kind regards/LPL

Re: My CRC with liver mets journey

Well I must be doing well because they want to start the pump chemo TODAY. We were just expecting saline. Glad I had sushi yesterday! Sounds like they only found one affected lymph node, near the colon, which was removed during surgery. Pathology on all the other nodes was negative. I was a bit sur...

Re: My CRC with liver mets journey

I had a CT scan yesterday and Sandy called me today to say there was a blood clot on my spleen vein. Back to MSK for syringes full of blood thinner - I gave myself a shot in the bathroom and then we took a bus tour of NY! I’m now 9 days out. My swelling has been reduced significantly, and I’m walki...

Re: Cancer immunotherapy may have a dark side

I see a recent article in Science that will be published soon that there are concerns the possibility that in a few instances that so called checkpoint inhibitors could be the cause of "hyperprogression" seen in a few patients. Some cancer researchers wonder whether it is simply an illusi...

Re: mixed mri results

Good Luck today Hopie ! My husband did 4 chemo before liver resection and 8 after. The CT-scan after 4 chemo showed that 1 met had shrunk a little and 1 met had grown a little. (I called that ”no change” in my signature). The pathology said the same for both liver mets; that it was very few living c...

Re: My CRC with liver mets journey

Oh wow  I presume they had my bed on max the whole time then. I could feel how the mattress changed now and then.
Good that you figured out how to make it better.

Re: My CRC with liver mets journey

The pump study went well, the follow told me it was working perfectly. In other good news we learned to hack these terrible beds. I swear the bed is giving me more pain than the surgery! Still no bowel movement, so they don’t want to discharge me. But I’m feeling good so I may insist on it tomorrow...
