Re: Back after almost 10 years NED - Ascites, Peri & Liver Mets!

If he is MSI, then I don't see why they wouldn't try immunotheraphy. MSI/MSS is something that is determined from getting genetic testing done. Has he had any?

Re: Back after almost 10 years NED - Ascites, Peri & Liver Mets!

Is there a chance that they, the lesions they are seeing are not cancer?

Re: Back after almost 10 years NED - Ascites, Peri & Liver Mets!

I'm so sorry to hear that. Way back when your husband was Dx with stage II colon cancer, did he have any follow up chemo.? Colon cancer is a very slow growing cancer and it could of been there all along , but for some reason they didn't see it? just wondering. How long do you do surveillance? I hear...

Re: Large polyp removed

My mother is 81 years old, so they elected the wait and watch approach. Since the one lymph node they saw it in was removed, they say there is a good chance that she may be cancer free. Her scan two weeks ago was clear and her CEA is normal. Even if there is some lingering cancer somewhere, colon ca...

Re: Large polyp removed

My mother went thru something similar to that. Two years ago, they found a polyp and removed it. It was found to be non cancerous. I think it was around 2 cm in size. They also marked the area with clips so they could keep an eye on it in future scopes. A year later, a new growth/polyp formed in the...

Re: Possible lymph node metastasis

On my husbands first pet scan after diagnosis, two lymph nodes lit up on the scan. When they removed them during the surgery, that were negative. Our oncologist at MDA said they were probably inflamed or infected from just having cancer. I'm hoping the same for you and that they are not censorious. ...

Re: 80 year old mother

Thanks Michelle,

That's what I'm thinking, not to do the chemo. It was just one lymph node that showed cancer cells in it and it was removed.

80 year old mother

Hello, Here I am again, only this time with my 80 year old mother. She had her right colon removed last week and a 1.7cm tumor was removed. The pathology report shows one out of 27 nodes positive for cancer and the "T" rating is T1. Her cells were moderately differentiated. Nothing else si...

Re: University of Michigan Hospital

My family lives in Pickney, MIchigan and my mother was recently DX with colon cancer and will be having her surgery at U of M hospital. My sister is an oncology nurse at U of M hospital and says nothing but good things about them. My mother's surgery will take place on April 1st. I would have to che...

Re: CAT Scan Question

I can't give you the medical definition or explanation of what it is, but I can tell you that my husband had them show on his lung scans at MDA and our oncologist didn't go into detail, but told us it was nothing even worth mentioning. Nothing ever came of it and were over 8years out NED. I wouldn't...

Re: Mother just DX cancer

My husband was 50 years old, and he had all the genetic testing done at MDA and there were no abnormal shifts detected. Even with this, you still wonder if there is not a genetic factor that they don't know about yet, so it's not tested for. He had all this done about 7 years ago and our oncologist ...
