Positive news- Cancer free two years in

I just wanted to say that I am now 2 years since rectal surgery and i am cancer free. In my scan in May, there were a couple of lung spots under watch (i had a bad cold when i was scanned) but 4 months later the scan is clear. I have a rare genetic mutation which predisposes me to multiple cancers, ...

Re: I heart FOLFOX

Great news because radiations suck! I wish i had folfox instead of radiations, but they might have saved my life, or at least prolong it, so i should not complain.

Re: on and off bleeding for 5 years - no pain

Get a colonoscopy! Yes, they can tell you precisely the source of the bleeding. The colonoscopy does not hurt given the sedation, and it's over in 15 min. It is really not too bad but the prep sucks, i admit. But you really don't have a choice at this stage. Get the colonoscopy to get an answer!

Re: Help!! Newly diagnosed stage 3a signet ring cell carcinoma

I had some signet cells, but it was called adénocarcinoma with signet ring. I am still here, it's been two years since diagnosis. So far , so good. I changed a lot since my diagnosis. Like Dory, i don't read about stats anymore. Whatever happens, happens. I try to enjoy life that i do have. And of c...

Wow! Wishing you a long healthy life! Your outcome is amazing! I also had DCIS after CRC. What treatment did you do for that one?
Thank you very much for posting.

Re: Mets and CEA

With all the challenges you've endured these last few years, you have every right to be scared. Butt the fact that you were diagnosed stage II with this cancer is generally a good indication that they caught this cancer early. Is there a concern about your breast cancer? If you think this will cons...

Mets and CEA

I was wondering if anyone on here had extremely low CEA and had mets at the same time. My CEA isn't deemed representative since it was 0.9 at diagnosis and had stayed that way throughout. Most recently, it was 0.4. Now i have these 2 lung spots which need to be rechecked in months and I wonder, if t...

Re: Scare number...lost count!

Thank you, Lee. Yes, my little one was 6 months old at my crc diagnosis now she is almost 2.5 yrs old as i am approaching two years since dx. I feel like i really couldn't catch my breath in these two years though. 4 surgeries, 2 diagnosis, rads, chemo, scopes, scans, ultrasounds, biopsies...sigh!! ...

Scare number...lost count!

So one scare barely ended and not easily, i had to do another scope to verify my colon and it's never easy to go through the prep and the whole hospital procedure, now i had my yearly CT scan and they see 2 undetermined lung spots. I had and still have a major cold/flu/ sinus infection for which i a...

Re: newly diagnosed newbie

What strikes me is the fact that it all started with "oh how much i have to learn", then people pouring in with input, and ended with many hollistic solutions like original poster (op) knew it all. So in the end, why ask others if you know the answers? It then surfaces that his/op's mom wa...

Re: newly diagnosed newbie

Thanks, again, for the comments! I went to a nutritionist yesterday at the recommendation of my primary care doctor. I told her that I have been eating broccoli on a regular basis now and made other drastic dietary changes (I was also diagnosed with diabetes within the past month). She actually tol...

Re: Back on the panic train!

My surgeon says it's practically impossible to have a recurrence after 4 months but for my peace of mind he is willing to do a short scope , just to verify my rectum.

I have the scope April 26 and a scan on May 4th. So we'll have an answer soon.
