Re: I'm Stage IV to NED!!! How long does average NED last?

Rob, Your post caught my eye as a good friend of ours had Stage IV colon cancer with mets to the aortic area and the neck. He had FOLFOX treatments along with Avastin. His only surgery consisted of removing the primary in the cecum. He has been clear for 10 years now. I, myself, have been NED for 7 ...

Re: Happy New Year- Update

Great news! So happy for your family. My liver enzymes were also very high and she gave me Ursodiol to help bring my numbers down. I am not sure how well it worked but I stopped after a year and my numbers have come down (albeit very slowly) over the past couple of years. She said the only one we wo...

Re: New member

Mariane, Just a quick note to you that I also had a number (5) of liver lesions when I was diagnosed in 2008. After 4 treatments of FOLFOX I had 40% shrinkage and we scheduled a liver resection, colon resection and HAI placement. My surgical team was Dr. Paty and Dr. D'Angelica. My oncologist is the...

Re: Divine Healing

I thank those of you who have contributed to this thread. I am a believer and I delight in hearing of Divine healing! I am also also a scientist. I realize that nothing that I share can convince someone who does not want to believe, but I also know that my own experience may serve to witness for th...

Re: I'm a new member here.

Charity, My own Stage IV colon cancer was discovered during my last c-section. After the baby was delivered the attending OB felt around the uterine area and discovered a swollen lymph node that was promptly biopsied and found positive for colon cancer. A scan a few days later determined I had 5 liv...

Re: NED's are you following a diet & exercising or living your life as before?

When I asked my well-regarded oncologist at MSK about how to avoid recurrence she said one word, "Exercise." And so I do, getting in at least 27 mets of exercise weekly. Keeping fit is important to our family and my husband and I like that our three children see the importance we place on ...

Cynthia,

Sending you my thoughts and prayers through the miles to you and your family. With no experience with treatments for lung cancer I have nothing to add here other than this is always a place for you to vent and find comfort. I am thinking of you.

Stage IV, 6 years in the clear

Last week I met with Dr. K after she returned from her vacation. I had a scan at the end of May prior to leaving on our own annual trip to Myrtle Beach. I was able to retrieve the results from the online portal during our vacation and read "No evidence of metastatic disease." Yahoo! This s...

Rest in peace, Sasjourney

It is with such a heavy heart that I post information about the passing of sasjourney (Saralee Sheehan) on June 19, 2015. I saw the notice on the CSN board where she posted a bit more frequently than here. Saralee would PM me outside the board and her emails and posts reflected her loving and gracio...
