Re: O/T just thinking out loud

Thank you! That mirrors my experiences, albeit few, to a tee. Somehow it makes me feel less alone.

Re: Taking a break from chemo and second opinion

My oncologist has chosen to take out my port as a dual lumen port is far too large for a woman with a smallish "boobal" area. W.hen my liver enzymes are closer to normal, I will start a LOW dose of Xeloda. She plans on raising the dose slightly each treatment. I am really pleased with this...

Re: Taking a break from chemo and second opinion

It is good for me to hear from someone with a similar dilemna. I am sorry that you went thru this, but I am glad to know someone...

Taking a break from chemo and second opinion

HI, I am so grateful for this forum. I have only had 2 treatments of FOLFOX and one of 5-FU/Lev. After my first FOLFOX treatment, I had to go four weeks without treatment because my Neutrophils dropped, raised a bit, then dropped again. Three Neupogen shots later, I was good to go for my second trea...

Re: Dating and cancer

Thank you, yes, that's me on ugly Christmas sweater Thursday, lol. This diagnosis and treatment has really affected how I feel about myself as a "datable" person. The only guys I meet are online as I live in a small city that is very unfriendly to single women. It's weird how much it bothe...

Oh sweetie, I so feel your fatigue. I have only had 3 treatments and have had to take 4 weeks between some treatments and drop the Oxalaplatin between others AND take Neulasta. You are doing great with 9 treatments!!! You might just be my new super hero! HUGS

Dating and cancer

OK, I am just going to ask it. Do single cancer survivors date while taking treatment? How and when do you bring it up in conversation? I have been sitting alone at home during this time, and I really want to go out again, but feel more vulnerable and somewhat damaged... I still have 8 more FOLFOX t...

Re: Sick to my stomach and a nervous wreck

[*] And in response to being mad about the first two GI's ummmm.. I am beyond livid. I already made smart mouth comments to Nurse Ratchett employed by the second GI I saw. He was suppose to remove the polyp. Instead he probed it, poked it and tattooed it. His nurse Ratchett said they forgot to order...

Re: New here

I was diagnosed in Oct. 2015 with 3b N1... I'm still scared and tolerating the Oxalaplatin part of FOLFOX very poorly. I have to take Neulatsa, (not a big deal ), but I am only on my 3rdd treatment and my liver values are way off. This treatment, I am taking FU+L. Next treatment, my onc will add the...
