Re: Melanoma and Colon Cancer

Thanks Ron!!! That is very interesting. Thank you for letting me know. I have read that not all melanomas stage 0 / in situ / non invasive develop into invasive Melanomas. I read about half do. I think giving the fact my was stable was so long and still small 0.4 mm. I wonder... My dad had many simi...

Re: Melanoma and Colon Cancer

Thanks!!! Congratulations on clear scans!!! You must be so happy.

Well, with my Melanoma. It seems that it's not as unusual especially with women. I was told that some Melanomas 0 progress to Cancer and some don't. Still happy that it was removed.

Re: Melanoma and Colon Cancer

Ok, great that all is clear!

I know I should be happy that potential bad mole was removed and that's it. Also opportunity for my children to be screened on regular basis.

Re: High Grade Dysplasia Found

Can you get a 2nd opinion from a Cancer Center? I was in a gray area as well with my malignant polyp. One colorectal surgeon was willing to operate since my risk for lymph nodes involvment was 3-6% in his opinion. Cancer center said no to surgery and I was even trying to convince the surgical onco a...

Re: Melanoma and Colon Cancer

I am not sure to be honest. I think if you look at NCCN guidlines it is under stsge 1. I think all cancers in situ / like my Melanoma are stage 0 / precancer / high grade dysplasia in colon etc.

Re: Melanoma and Colon Cancer

Thank you. Congrats on catching your CC so early! I am stage 1 in CC. It was a stressful situation since I had the Pedunculated low risk malignant polyp. Cancer on the top of the polyp but stalk 2 cm clear of Cancer and dysplacia. NCCN and UT Southewestern Cancer center said surgery not indicated. I...

Re: Melanoma and Colon Cancer

Thanks. My understanding is that stage 0 is not invasive. It's really precancer but it could develop into Cancer. Still shocked my old dermatologist never was even concern about the mole. I am pretty sure it was precancer the whole time. Looked the same for over 10 years. Happy to hear you are doing...

Melanoma and Colon Cancer

Well - 2016 is my worst or the luckiest year. Not sure yet. I go to a Cancer center in Dallas because of my malignant colon polyp. According to the guidlines my polyp was low risk and I didn't have to have any other treatment - just removal during colonoscopy. I had done all available genetic testin...

Re: LAR or Not

Yes, I go to Doc Polanco. I really like him and trust him. He always explains everything to me and is compassionate. Just a great Doc. He set me up with breast cancer surgeon because I have strong family history. Well, the breast cancer surgeon discovered stage 0 Melanoma on my breast. I am so mad s...

Re: Does it always turn?

I just head clear colonoscopy. MRI confirmed hemangiomas on liver diagnosed 10 months ago. No change and stable. CEA 0.3.

Cancer center doesn't want to see my for full year. Little worried but was told it's based on NCCN guidelines for my low risk polyp.

Wish you the best!

Re: Tubular Adenomas?

You should now exact location and size of your tubular adenoma. I had a tubular Adenoma in my secum 3 mm. And tubuvillous adenoma with small Cancer on the top of the polyp. If you grow adenomas they you should be monitored more frequently.

Re: Monitoring for Children of Parents with Colon Cancer

Thank you! As mother I for sure don't want my children to have experience anything related to Cancer. I had a good conversation about this with a GI surgical oncologist at Cancer Center today. He belives that I do have some genetic link that has not been discovered yet. He thinks that I most likely ...
