Re: Colonoscopy prep question

Mine will be done by the surgeon who did my RHC and her form states " Purchase Bi-Peglyte from the pharmacy. ABSOLUTELY NO SUBSTITUTIONS." Once I compared minerals content and osmolarity of PegLyte and RestoraLax + Gatorade. They were quite different. I came to conclusion that PegLyte sho...

Re: Fathering to a healthy baby after chemoradiation?

Nohogirl , eggs are given to a woman only once. This is a reason that pregnancy is not recommended after chemo or radiation. Sperms are created non-stop. The risk of getting a defective sperm decreases exponentially after the end of chemo or radiation. After a certain time this risk is back to the ...

Re: Sleeping with: bag, heart monitor and pump accached

I can not sleep on my back and turn from side to side through the night. Never underestimate yourself. For my whole life I believed that I was a side sleeper. However when I was neither able to sleep on my right side nor on my left side after a couple of sleepless nights I have learned how to sleep...

Re: How to support my husband??

We are both healthcare providers and understand that the statistics aren't good. The opposite is true. Chances of your husband for complete recovery are much better than 50%. How do I make him believe that he is not the numbers? Do not be to pushy. Do not "make your husband …". Approach s...

When I noticed this statue, my first association was that it was a monument to missing parts of colon. :( What do you believe is an official explanation for this piece of art located in Calgary, Alberta? https://www.figvam.ca/cloud/pics/i/12148.jpg?ttt=1540902355 http://www.figvam.ca/cloud/pics/i/12...

Re: General question about CT scan

The radiologist commented on all my organs from the heart down. Said everything was unremarkable. Being "unremarkable" is good, especially in this context. Statistically speaking your bleeding may be caused by diverticulosis, Crohn, colitis and quite a few other conditions. Cancer is just...

Re: Major cancer centers/insurance

I will have to check. Open enrollment starts Monday and I’ll select 66% anyways as the price difference is small. I probably should have changed it last year. I didn’t expect the post reversal period to be so difficult. NHMike , please read the fine print! Such increase may require doctor's note de...

Re: Another disappointing ER visit and frustrations!

DarknessEmbraced, was this ER department at the same hospital where you had your surgery?

As for my experience, going to ER of a hospital where I had my surgery was more useful regardless of a longer drive.
