Re: Sabbatical on!

Great news!

I know only too well about possibly postponing life plans like that. We were in the middle of buying a house in the caribbean when I got diagnosed. Talk about putting your life on hold.....

So get out there and enjoy!! Think of the wine you'll be able to enjoy!!!

Frankly I'm quite fascinated by this whole direction of research....I think that is the future of cancer treatment; ie: assist the body's immune system kill the f--ing thing...

I was so dumbfounded by the bad news that eating was the last thing on my mind. But I was staying with my parents and my mom is big on cooking/...

Re: Long term chemo side effects? Even after done?

Next month it will be 2 yrs since I finished chemo. I still have on/off tingling in my feet and hands, and yes, my joints ache. I try to exercise regularly and it does help...somewhat. Like Gaelen said....it's the gift that keeps on giving.... :(

Re: Hand/Foot syndrome How avoid/minimize this?

I guess we all experience side effects differently. WHen I was on 'the bag', I had a pile of symptoms but hand/foot was not one of them. While on Xeloda, I did not experience the nasty nausea, cold sensitivity, etc of Folfox, but I did develop hand/foot....albeit quite mild. It's important to keep t...

TIME mag article
