Re: Ileostomy Reveral Prior to Chemo

I was told we had to wait at least 6 weeks after my reversal to start up chemo again, and thats what we did. I am stage 4 metastatic so I wanted to get back on chemo as quick as possible obviously. I was already in talks about having my reversal done before we knew the cancer was back. It was a big ...

Re: Cramping- chemo is either working or it's not...

Thank you all, I love this forum. So I saw Dr G at Princess Margaret on Monday for my second opinion on HIPEC. His approach is basically that we have to wait and see. If I am responding to Folfiri such that my tumours are stabilized and I don't have any spread or growth, then surgery will be an opti...

Re: What do you all think about this recent article?

My brother was telling me today there has been a rebuttal that it's based on bad math. So I guess there is that.

Re: Cramping- chemo is either working or it's not...

Thank you guys for replying. Who knows maybe now that I have some discomfort I may get the hysterectomy I always wanted, as the attitude seems they do not seem to want to do surgery unless there is pain. I will update after my meeting with the HIPEC surgeon Monday.

Re: It's back

I am wondering how your cousins PET scan went, and if they believe she is eligible for surgery maybe? Hope you are well.

Re: YACC retreat

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to share that my partner and I attended the YACC ReTreat Yourself this fall in Cobourg, Ontario and had the best of times. Everyone gets to attend a retreat yourself once, and it's at no cost. I found it so transformative to connect with 35 peers for 4 days....

Cramping- chemo is either working or it's not...

Hi everyone. I am new here but have lurked all year. I just felt like sharing today. I had my second round of folfiri on Wednesday and since then I have had fairly constant cramping that feels like menstrual cramps, only I am mid-cycle. I saw my oncol today about it and she says it's unlikely a side...

Re: Trial /news re: anti PD-L1 MEDI4736 - Immunotherapy

How does one know which of these immunotherapies is a good one to try for oneself? I'm near Princess Margaret in Toronto. It would be comforting to know if one of these was compatible for me in the future when the chemo won't help.
