Re: My Dad's Dilemma Between Colorectal and Heart Bypass Surgery

I have seen on this forum that it is a great idea to take cimetidine(tagamet) for a while before and after surgery to help prevent future metastasis.

No advice otherwise, sorry. I hope everything goes well.

Supplements, yay or nay? Lycopene, grapeseed extract, reseveratrol, curcumin

Well-meaning people are always sending me links about 'natural' ways to fight colon cancer.
I can find no definitive answer on these 4. What say you, o wise & experienced members? Any benefit to any of these?

Re: Persistent Allergy Symptoms on FOLFOX?

My husband is on folfiri & avastin. He has runny nose/congestion/coughing a lot more now than he has in our entire married life; he wasn't like this on Folfox, either...I think it's the Avastin.

Re: Please help! Do I have colon cancer? `

Get a colonoscopy; best way to find out one way or another. Easy to misdiagnose on symptoms alone, and meds can make you feel better for a little bit even if it was cancer, but not always.

Re: New stage IV diagnosis/my brother

No experience with the stent, sorry. Insurance often doesn't like to approve PET scans, so maybe that's why one has not been scheduled? With FOLFOX, he may very likely have cold sensotivity, so he'll want to have things around he can stand to drink warm or room temp, although sometimes even room tem...
