Re: Message of hope from a wiley crc veteran

Rob, what I love most about your story is that you've had, what, three recurrences during the last 10 years and yet you are still alive, well, and NED to boot! It's a perfect hero story. So glad you still check in. Four recurrences. I have a recurrence card that if i get stamped two more tim...

It's always good to see an old-timer check in again -- especially if he's wearing his lucky Aussie hat!

Re: Message of hope from a wiley crc veteran

Rob, your post came at the right time. I am new to the group and had a bad day today ( reading too many scientific papers on outcomes for my stage and tumor type / 47% survival rate) and just am too neurotic to get that number out of my head despite a million reasons that I have to! Every success s...

Re: Message of hope from a wiley crc veteran

So good to hear from you, Rob, and know you got to celebrate so many milestones with your kids (although teaching my four daughters to drive is something I've tried very hard to forget). I would also like to say Go Penguins, but as a longtime Flyers fan, it would just be too painful. So I'll just s...

Re: Message of hope from a wiley crc veteran

I'm glad your life is going as well as can be expected and you have been around to help your wife to raise your children( they sound like great kids). I can remember back to a hospital visit from my 13 year old son and him asking if I was going to die. He is now 33 and he and his wife shifted to th...

Re: Stage 1 with no surgery...any thoughts?

I'll try giving you a low tech answer..... If you are already scheduled to back in August for follow up, try to relax and enjoy the summer and wait to see what the follow up shows. Non aggressive CRC can take years to develop, so I think taking a few months to relax (easy to say, i know),think over ...

Re: Clinical Trial Advice

Short answer....No, i didnt' rely solely on one doctor to research trials for me. Here's what I had.... 2 oncologists (1 local, and one in the major city where i had all my surgeries) were looking at trials for me. Also, at my local cancer center, we had what was called a "clinical trial manage...
