Re: Pathological downstaging

It is always good to see NED and better results than last reported, but I am a big believer in not sugar coating the initial staging upon diagnosis. It is my personal belief that the higher the stage, the more aggressive the treatment. Treatment and surveillance efforts are not cheap, so no insuranc...

Re: Anyone with peri mets who survived?

She did not change her diet much, but has always been a healthy eater. She eats less now than before though...I am not sure why, but our kids are in college and she eats when she is hungry as opposed to always cooking (and eating with) for two teenage boys living in the house:) She is currently a pa...

Re: Coordination between oncologists - how to proceed?

I am sorry to read your most recent post. My wife has received her infusion treatments at a local hospital and Dana Farber in Boston, MA has provided the plan of action. The two oncologists work collaboratively and communicate through written correspondence in their findings and recommendations. The...

Re: Bad News

I am sorry to read your post. I know another thread currently on the board shows great results with Keytruda for similar diagnosis and potential recurrence. Read the posts and be armed with this information prior to your next Oncology visit. Keep up with the changes around us with things like Keytru...

Re: Ops ! New lymph node

I do not know much about cancer care in Turkey. I would go to your nearest cancer specialists and get a second opinion on the new lymph node involvement. Cancer centers in the USA have more experience with changing drug and treatment plans than most local hospital oncology departments. Let us know w...

Re: Ops ! New lymph node

I am sorry to say, it does not sound normal. Any signs of mets or lymph node involvement will require you and your spouse to seek another professional opinion. Not certain where you live, but most here would suggest a second opinion from a major cancer center like Dana Farber / Boston; Sloan Ketteri...

Re: cancer cure?

Always be skeptical, but never lose HOPE! Much of our current advancements in CRC treatments came from similar research and development. The more research done, the better the opportunity for cures and better outcomes. Let's hope it has a positive affect to some people here on this forum. I often wo...
