Re: New here...At a Crossroad

40 rounds of chemo, you are a warrior! I have so much respect for you and your fighting spirit. I imagine your body and mind are both drained and weakened, and everything seems miserable when you try to think of your options going forward. I haven’t had anywhere near 40 rounds of chemo, and at times...

Re: Just found out yesterday I have colon cancer.

I don’t have a polyp. I have a mass that’s almost a complete blockage :| Hey Ginrwill. Sorry to see you here, but this is a great place to be if you have cc/rc. I found this place after my diagnosis and surgery and can’t tell you how much this forum has helped me. I see you are worried (who wouldn’...

Re: Hubby diagnosed 3C adenosquamous colon

We just got back gene mutation test. He is microsatellite stable and also has the B-RAF mutation. Waiting on results from his CT scan. From what I’ve read he has a very aggressive cancer which the doctor also had told us. He is not in good spirits right now and concerned about CT results. He finish...

Re: New here...At a Crossroad

Hi Janis. Sorry to hear about your situation. It may sound cliche but there is always hope. Other people with similar situations have reached NED status again. It is true that you may have to face the possiblity of having treatments indefinitely but even this is not a certainty. Just worry about th...

Re: First Chemo (Oxaliplatin/Leukovorin 2hr/5FU Infuser)

First of all, good luck!! I drove myself there and back to each chemo. I was by myself for the last 6 or so treatments. My only issue was the steroids they gave with the chemo would make my blood sugar wonky. If I didn't eat after chemo I felt worse. But I didn't feel hungry...just nauseous and head...

Re: Hate prepping

Ick! I just did the same last week...Suprep and lemonade...the worst combo ever. It was sour, salty, chemical tasting, and medicinal all at the same time. So gross.

Good luck on the prep.

Re: Upcoming Scans

Thanks all. I wouldn't say I'm focused on the scans but I'm trying to establish a suitable for me method of determining if im still NED that i think is sufficient enough. For some reason I'm not happy with what they have in place. I think it's lacking substance to say. Also I eat very well and exer...

Re: Colonoscopy Prep

Sorry about the polyps...IDK if they can be prevented, I think some people just grow them. I am so uncomfortable about the waiting times between colonoscopies in folks like us, who have had diagnoses of cancer. THREE YEARS IS TOO LONG!!!!! I had my 1 year colonoscopy a few days ago and the doc said...

Re: Anyone with Stage IVa just do Xelolda or 5-fu?

I wrote my reply before I saw your comment, TXLiz. Yeah, I get your point but I don't think he is considering neuropathy a severe side effect. I think he's thinking about blood clots, that type of thing that OX can cause. P.S. cancer in party hats.... haha... evil devilish partiy-monsters! I think ...
