Re: My fiance , 33, gets Stage 4 diagnosis...

Thank you, i understand better know. Not sure where you are living, butt consider getting a second opinion at a major cancer hospital or cancer center. They tend to be on the leading edge of tomorrow's standard care. Because of her age, they can throw the kitchen sink at her. Has anyone mentioned a ...

Re: My fiance , 33, gets Stage 4 diagnosis...

So my fiance was having some bleeding and diarrhea over the summer , nothing too bad. We chalked it up to stress with work and covid. Finally , she had enough and saw a GP. Mind you this woman has never had anything wrong before , other than cold or stomach bugs. Did some tests , suggested she get ...

Re: Polyps after CRC

I get scoped every 3 yrs, & yes they usually find 1 to 2 polyps each time. Guess my body likes to produce them. Generally harmless but a few nasty ones. From what I understand, it generally takes about 10 yrs for a sessile polyp to turn cancerous. If (& that is a big IF) one of those polyp t...

Re: Newly Diagnosed Stage III colorectal cancer

. . . The location of my tumor means that I would probably suffer from incontinence if I didn’t have a permanent bag and they think the quality of life would be far better with a colostomy. . . Best advice I can give you, "Give it all you've got the 1st round", don't look back with regret...

Re: Cancer scare/symtoms.

Agree with KimT.

Me I had no symptons. Many years ago, my mother ended up in the ER, rectal bleeding & lots of pain. They did a colonoscopy, no cancer, not even one polyp, just a bad case of diverticulitis.

Hope this helps,

Re: Newly Diagnosed Stage III colorectal cancer

Hi, sorry for the reason you are here. I am a 16+ year survivor of stage IIIC rectal cancer. I too have a permanent colostomy bag. Yes there is an adjustment period, butt after awhile it is a part of your life. My friends know I have one, very open about it, butt my friends tell me they would not ha...

Re: Rectal Cancer: Habr-Gama Watch and Wait Strategy to Avoid Surgery

. . . . Resting at home after today’s transanal excision (“TAE”) and can report the following: The op itself was short, with generally mild post-op pain so far, mostly from the anus getting “stretched” to accommodate the instrument tube (I have a suspicion that they ran a mobile rocket launcher or ...

Re: Stage 4 Stable = cured ?

Getting to once a year is a good sign & a major milehstone. I wanted to continue to see my Onc once a year forever, butt at the 11yr mark, she dropped me. Said I was "cured" & there was no reason for me to keep coming back. I have been told, with rectal cancer, they like to monitor...

Re: Solitary common iliac recurrence

Sorry, I don't have an answer to your question.

Rather . . . Can the medical professional remove the lymph node? Might be something a serious cancer center can address.

Good luck,

Re: New stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis

I agree with boxhill here. I was 46 when I was diagnosed (5 yrs older than your DH), again stage IIIC. My team threw the kitchen sink at me. FOLFOX & Avastin were experimental drugs, had not been approved by the FDA for stage III yet. My Onc got me on board with FOLFOX through a trial. We had Ma...

Not sure which hospitals can do that, butt I believe Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC can work with patients that have liver & lung mets.

Good luck,

Lee
